The word says that if we see our brother and sister living in “sin” it is our responsibility to help them see the error of their ways. This post is to help show those who are living in error, their wrong ways.
Imagine a Christian brother or sister, stealing week after week, from their friends, then proclaiming “Oh, I love Jesus”.
Imagine a Christian brother or sister, having sex week after week, with someone other than their spouse, then professing “Oh I love Jesus”.
Imagine a Christian brother or sister, cussing profanely God D this or JC that, week after week, then proclaiming “Oh, I love Jesus”.
Imagine a Christian brother or sister, saying “Oh I hate my Dad, he’s such a so and so, week after week, then proclaiming “Oh I love Jesus”.
Imagine a Christian brother or sister, angrily yelling at people with murder in their eyes, week after week, then proclaiming “Oh I love Jesus”.
Imagine a Christian brother or sister, wanting more and more “things”, a new car,a craving for more money, more pleasure toys, etc., week after week, then proclaiming “Oh I love Jesus”.
Imagine a Christian brother or sister, lying and telling falsehoods about their fellow human beings, week after week, then proclaiming “Oh I love Jesus”.
Imagine a Christian brother or sister, bowing down to a statue of Buddha, week after week, then proclaiming “Oh I love Jesus”.
Imagine a Christian brother or sister, spending so much time living his life with all the pleasures he can find, dedicating very little time to God, week after week, then proclaiming “Oh I love Jesus”.
After reading all the above most Christians today would definitely say “God forbid!” They would readily say ” That is not right, that is real hypocrisy”. “Please stop this sinning and live righteously with God.” Each of the above examples are of breaking God’s Holy Commandments. Christendom is unanimous in this agreement of condemnation. Now let’s look at the last example.
Imagine a Christian brother or sister, every seventh day (Friday evening to Saturday evening) doing their “own” thing. Enjoying their pleasures, going to parties or even working, then proclaiming “Oh I love Jesus”. Yes! We can imagine this and we see it ALL OVER Christendom!
Now, think about this. To many Christians, Jesus has come to release ONE Commandment at the cross. It was the Sabbath! Jesus wants us to “forget” the only Commandment He said to “Remember”. Does this make sense? After all we just established that Christians hold all Commandments in truth of Jesus’ righteous living, but ONE Commandment has no truth(?) One Commandment is not to be obeyed?
Please send this post to your Christian friends and family, just maybe it will make them think. For Jesus said “Whoever breaks the LEAST of the Commandments, and teaches others to do so, shall be called least in heaven, BUT, whoever does them, and teaches others to do so, shall be called GREAT in heaven”. (Matt.5:19) . We break ONE we break them all.

Amen! That is pretty powerful.

The sad thing is it is also true. But just maybe the truth will spread and awake them. We can only do our part, your bro in Christ.

So true!! How straight you do write. May our Lord Jesus bless you more boldness like our respected brother Apostle Paul. I am sure when Lord will come in His fullness He will bless you richly according to His compassion.
(I am glad with the comment you made on my site for “My 1st Sabbath Testimony. THANKS!!)

The problem with Sabbatarianism is that it is fundamentally flawed. The Jerusalem Council settled the matter in Acts 15, and the verdict was that new converts, specifically gentiles (that means those followers of Christ who weren’t already circumcised) were not to be put under the law. The response was repeated for clarity and it was transcribed from beginning to end, leaving any room for an argument that something was just omitted.
If it was intended that we should keep the 10 Commandments, they surely would have mentioned it in the verdict, that was repeated twice ver batim, in the finding of the Jerusalem Council. It was not mentioned, implied or even alluded to.
Should we keep the 10 Commandments?
I would argue yes, why not? Can anyone find fault in any of them? I know that I can’t.
Is keeping the sabbath a requirement that effects salvation? No.
Is keeping the Sabbath a requirement that will result in divine judgment. No.
Keep in mind that I am a Christian who observes the Sabbath and also tells everyone he meets that the Feasts of the Lord are critical to our understanding of the Messiah past, present and future. The problem with Sabbatarianism is not that keeping the Sabbath or the Feasts of the Lord is a bad thing. It is that it invariably leads to a legalistic approach to Christianity. Not legalistic in the sense of don’t drink, don’t smoke and wear covering (for men). Legalistic in the sense that in order to argue that the law should be (as in required to be) kept, you have added a layer that Christ Himself abolished. It is in Christ that we find our Sabbath rest, not through the mechanically observation of a religious ceremony.

Very confusing. First you give me the reasons why we don’t need to “keep” the Ten Commandments then you say “I would argue , YES, we should keep the Ten Commandments(?). Let me ask you something Peter. If I proclaimed to be “Christian” and I accepted Jesus as my savior but continued to “steal” week after week, would you consider me saved?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. No, I don’t look at obeying his Commandments as “legalism” I know that is a term fancied by “Believers” quite a bit. MANY verses from God’s word comes to mind in regards to you belief that the Sabbath is not a requirement. The book of Revelation clearly describes who will be saved. I think you would not argue that we are living in these last days. (Rev. 14;12) “Here is the perserverance of the saints(those saved) who KEEP the commandments of God, and their faith in Jesus. Notice it does NOT say only “their faith in Jesus”. it specifically adds “keep the Commandments of God”. So right there it says that this keeping will perserve us in the last days. The Sabbath being in the heart of those Commandments, no doubt.
It goes on further to say “The dragon (Satan) was enraged with the woman(church), and went off to make war with the rest of her children(fellow believers) , who KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD and hold to the testimony of Jesus(Rev. 12:17). Again you’ll notice BOTH requirements are describing the last day Christian believers.
Another, for more emphasis, says, “Blessed are they that DO His Commandments, so that they may have the right to the tree of life”
All three verses of GOD’S WORD drive home the point of “keeping” the Commandments in these last days.
Then we have the clear direct word of God describing what sin is (1 John 3:4) ” Sin is transgression of the Law”. Okay, the next logical question would be what Law? Is it the Mosiac law, with all it’s ceromonies, rituals, and sacrifices? Ofcourse not, Jesus completed that law, for HE was the ultimate and FINAL sacrifice for our sins. So that leaves the great MORAL LAW. Written with Gods’ own finger (the ONLY place in all the bible that God directly wrote Himself) there can be NO OTHER LAW which this transgression describes, correct?
Once we accept Jesus as our Lord, do we then transgress His Law? Showing contempt for what he did (Dying for our sins)? Ofcourse not.(Hebrews 10:26) Clearly says “If we SIN willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrafice for our sins”. In other words, after we acknowlege that the Lord died for us, we must not continue to willfully sin(ie. break the Commandments), or else Jesus died in vain for us.
Lastly Jesus, our Lord Himself said (Matt 5:19) “Whoever BREAKS the least of the Commandments and teaches others to do so, shall be called least in heaven, BUT whoever DOES THEM and teaches others to do so shall be called great in heaven”
It doesn’t get any plainer than that. I will take our Lord’s word for it and NOT want to break ANY Commandment, lest I hold His words in contempt and say ” Oh, I am special, I can break one of them and he will STILL love me” How dare I even think that!

Well said. I saw your post in Daniel’s site guestbook today. I thought everyone is going for Joseph Prince’s radical grace. It is quite rare to find people like you who stand up for your love for God’s law as a Christian. God bless you.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I must be about the Lord’s business. I agree that the devil has largely succeded in watering down the truth. The great deception is the “mixed” truth that is believed today. With you and I spreading this truth we shall be partakers in the fruit of the harvest, amen! Ps. Where is “Daniel’ site guestbook? will check it out.

@PETER I 2 AM CONFUSED; BUT IF I MAY I’D LIKE 2 EXPOUND ON WHAT U SAID. 1ST, THE RESULT OF OBEDIENCE IS LOVE. IT IS NOT LEGALISTIC 2 LOVE. HERE IS A FORMULA THAT EPITAMIZES 14:12 TRU LOVE OF CHRIST AND FAITH N ALL OF GOD’S TRUTH BEGATS OBEDIENCE. IT IS THAT SIMPLE. I DON’T KEEP THE SABBATH OR THE OTHER 9 LAWS OF LOVE CUZ I HAVE 2, I DO IT CUZ I LOVE GOD & IF I DON’T IT HURTS GOD CUZ IT IS SIN & THAT SEPARATES ME FROM HIM. GOD COULD NOT EVEN LOOK ON HIS OWN SON WHEN HE WORE OUR SINS THAT IS Y THE EARTH GREW DARK. N THE VS OF WHICH SPEAK THE MAIN ARGUEMENT WAS CIRCUNCISION ON WEATHER THE GENTILES WERE 2 B N THE FLESH THAT IT WAS UNECESRARY THAT WAS 4 THE FLESHLY ISREAL. WE & THEY IN ? R SPIRITUAL ISREAL, BUT 2 SAY THAT WE DON’T NEED 2 KEEP THE 10 IS TO SAY GOD CHANGEED FROM WHEN THE 10 WERE HANDED DOWN. GOD IS IMMUTABLE. I AGREE W WHAT U SAID; SABBATARIAN IS UNECESRARY. THE MESSIANIC JEWS R SABATAAIANS OBESERVE TH FEAST 2 THAT ORDINANCE WAS WASHED AWAY W THE BLOOD OF TH LAST LAMB. LASTLY MATT 7 21.
November 23, 2010 at 9:29 pm |
Y DID JESUS SAY AWAY? BCUZ THEY TRANSGRESSED THE LAW. THAT TRUTH IN ITSELF SHOULD BE ENUF 2 TURN 1 WHO TRULY LOVES THE LORD 2 OBEDIENCE. IT WAS4 ME, 2 B SEPARATED FROM HIM SENDS HORROR CRAWLS DOWN MY SPINE, & NOT CUZ I’M AFRAID OF BURNING IN HELL 4 ETERNITY. THAT WAS THE 1ST LIE “YE SHALL LIVE 4EVER!” OUR LOVING FATHER IS MORE MERCIFUL & JUST. THE LOST WILL B AS THEY NEVER WERE. THE 10 LAWS OF LOVE WERE KEPT ON THE INSIDE OF THE ARK TH ORDINANCES INCLUDING CIRCUMCISIOM WERE KEPT ON THE OUTSIDE. GOD NEVER ALTERED A THING RE: THE CHRISTIANS & THE LAW THEY R JUST ON A BETTER SURFACE OUR HEARTS & OUR MINDS HEB 8:10 WE R ISREAL & THE JEWS THAT EXCEPT HIM R JUDAH. Y DO U THINK HE SAY8 I WILL PUT A NEW HEART & SPIRIT; GOD WILL NOT PUT HIS LAWS & HIS SPIRIT NT2THEY WHICH R DISOBEIENT. MATT 7 :21… AWAY FROM ME I NEVER NEW U, U WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS. (SIN 1 JN 3:4.) GO W GOD INTO UR PRAYER CLOSET COMMUNE W HIM IF U SPEAK N TONGUES PRAY N UR NATIVE TONGUE & ASK HIM IF WHAT WE ALL HAVE SPOKEN IS TRUTH.
