Often many people forget that God also said in His 4th Commandment that we should “labor” six days a week. Infact God even “authorizes” that ” work “can be good for six days a week. So many times I hear Christians say “oh, I worship God SEVEN days a week”, when infact that is not God’s design. He knows that we must work by the sweat of our brow(due to our original sin). If we quit work and lay around we produce NOTHING and the bible says (2 Thel 3:10) “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if ANY would not work, neither should he eat”. Laziness is detestable to God!
I remember my dear old grandpa (who lived to be 95 years!) said to me “When you are working for someone, always do what they ask, and A LITTLE MORE” This is so true! For Christ definitely approves a hard and honest worker! Since I have become a ‘true” Christian I have be inspired to go the “extra” mile in my work. For the bible says “do ALL in the glory of God” ( 1 Cor 10:31) And I enjoy working hard and COMPLETING the job fully! Even clean up.
If you are working daily in your job and someone asks you for something, do it with a “smile”, that way you are doing “extra” and showing God you are doing for HIS glory! And be sure to do “honest” labor. If you are paid for certain work, do what is expected and DON’T overcharge! In my line of work , I hear SO MANY horror stories of “milking” the job and it’s makes me mad!
So let us “work” as the Lord said, but do “honest” work for His Glory. Amen!

Amen… It could not be better. God loves so much He gave us a day to rest and worship Him only, but we have to work. God wants us to gain our daily bread with the sweat of our brow, and more ever and idle mind is a gate of Satan.

“Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” (Colossians 3:22,23)

SO TRUE, ONE OF THE THINGS AN EMPLOYER LOVES IS A CHEERFUL HEARTY WORKER. IT IS SAD THAT THERE R THOSE WHO TAKE ADVANTAGE AND LEAVE THAT EXTRA OFF THEIRS, BECAUSE THEY NO U WILL DO IT. I ALWAYS CONSIDER CHARCTER BUILDING. WORK LIKE GOD HIMSELF IS PAYING U AND OBSERVING EVERX MOVEMENT. CUZ HE IS.

Amen Cynfree. I think it cannot be denied that when we work “hard and thorough” we feel that inner satisfaction because God is with us for being doing such way. As we think of pleasing God with our work, we get satisfaction.
