In Romans 11:18 we read —
“As the Scriptures say, “God has put them into a deep sleep. To this day he has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not hear.”
1 Cor.15:34 —
“Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.”
Make no mistake this stupor is not limited to our members but is also among our S.D.A leaders and proclaimers —
“Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed..” (Isaiah 29:9-11)
Today, unfortunately this spiritual stupor is very much alive among us as God’s remnant people. As the weeks and months go by I am seeing this to a greater and greater extent. Let us look at how this spirit is active and making God’s people to snooze while they should be wide awake.
Brother G is a long time friend, over 8 years now. He is one of a very few remaining S.D.A friends whom I have stayed close to over the years since disclosing to the church my affiliation with the Lord’s final message of Elijah–the Shepherd’s Rod (Micah 6:9). As we have posted many times, this message will cause negative feedback from our brethren, most particularly from the leaders.
But brother G has remained faithful and over the years we have had a few Bible studies. While not completely, or even to a large decree, acceptful of the message, he has been listening. But the ol “let me think about it for a while” time drag is shown to be a bad potential trap as Scriptures gives us a lesson.
“And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.” (Acts 24:25)
For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner. King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. (Acts 26:26-28)
Once the message of Truth is shown us, it is at that time we must embrace it because we love the Truth (Jesus), not delay and do it tomorrow. Tomorrow may never come as they say. The Spirit of Truth is real, and those who walk daily with Christ are to be guided into it and by it daily.
But brother G, has a particular sinful problem–gluttony. Although he has lost some weight, he still over eats and there are many signs of a physical and mental stupor. For a long time now while the sermon address is being preached from the pulpit, one can find brother G’s head slumped down or over to the side–fast asleep.
Although, today’s sermons are void of exciting present truth, one must not fall asleep while in God’s house for worship. Being concerned about this failure to honor God in His temple, I mentioned this a few years ago to brother G. He gratefully acknowledged it, and said he would “work on it.” Nothing changed.
But a few weeks ago, we decided to enter another study. He came over to my home and we went into a study of Rev.12. I pulled out the dry erase board and we pulled out our Bibles. For those who are doing studies with newcomers to the message, it is always best to show them present truth from the Bible and SOP. The Lord’s Rod (brother Houteff’s writings) is too much meat for them as they are just babes in the present truth. We don’t want to bring unnecessary confusion. Once progress is made then of course we can do advanced studies.
As I started to go into the lesson, I noticed a blank look on his face. Then I sat down and showed him areas of Rev. 12. As I read the selected passages, he said , “let me see that.” I handed over the Bible and he sat and just stared at the passage for what seemed like 10 minutes! His power of concentration seemed severely blurred. Anyway, this is how the study went, the main clear points were not comprehended much. I knew that the powerful lessons would not reach him.
Over the weeks I have thought about this, hence the Spirit leading to post about it. There is a true need of “wisdom” among us today. Sins such a gluttony, idol worship, a regular sin indulgence, etc. are stopping the Spirit of Truth from working!
“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that he will not hear.”(Isaiah 59:2)
But the answer to this is clearly given in the Word.
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.” (James 1:5-6)
Wow! Do we really understand this? This is THE ANSWER! If you or one of your close friends or relatives appear to be under a stupor, just pray and believe! We have wrote many many times that prayer is just half of the equation, the other half is to–believe. The Lord does not ONE soul to perish!
So what I have done recently, thanks to the Lord’s Spirit letting me know, is to go before the Lord in prayer for brother G. At least my submission will be heard and if the Lord’s will be done in this regard, all praise and honor to Him that saves!
Granted, some are blessed with discernment and teaching abilities because they “get it” quickly but many are not. So if you find yourself or your friend, neighbor or relative struggling to understand God’s Truth, just pray for wisdom!
To be sure, there are others from my area such as sister M, brother W and sister L, who have yet to fully comprehend the message, please join me in prayer for all these souls that they are given wisdom.
In closing brethren, our message is the one that gets God’s people sealed today and we need to understand it. The spirit of stupor is like a widespread communal disease among our people. God wants us to have wisdom and all we need to do is–ask, let’s do that.

Brother Rob, You misrepresent my words and my study on the Second Advent. You know I am aware of the SRod teachings on ALL subjects including the invisible Coming of the Lord to the Mt. of Olive to set up the infant Kingdom.
The Inspired counsel is: “Christ would have all understand the events of His Second Appearing.” RH Sept. 20, 1898.
Do you not believe this counsel?
You did not mention the study and chart on the Jubilees, i..e. 120 Jubilees = 6,000 years, why not?

Brother Ken, we do not dispute that you may have some knowledge of the SRod message. But there is a big disagreement on your preference to actively promote the Lord physically appearing at the commencement of the premillennial kingdom. We, as Davidians mostly know that the message does not teach such things, rather it will be an “invisible” coming that is next (Much as He was in leading Moses in the Exodus). The only next “physical” coming by the Lord will be in the clouds.
As you well know your understanding of this teaching is mostly rejected by DSDA and there is no wonder , the Spirit of Truth does not guide to such things. I know this is very disappointing to you yet we shall stand firmly upon the rock of Truth. The Jubilee teaching by you just shows a back up to your physical ideas of the Lord’s appearance to the pre-mil kingdom.
By all means if any write you lay out your case, but I have seen it and it falls short–sorry brother. As I already said to you via email, I would advance the Elijah message first and foremost –judgment is to begin in the house of God (1 Peter 4:17 and Ezek. 9) rather than to actively try and get new recruits to your ideas.In Christ, bro. The study I sent you was titled “The Second Advent” because the subject was the visible Second Coming NOT the invisible Coming. Yes I do get it brother. I know you don’t imply that He comes at the very beginning of the pre-mil kingdom, that is not what I am talking about. It’s your idea that He appears physically and sits upon the later pre-mil kingdom.That is NOT taught in the Rod, you misconstrue quite alot with SOP and the fact you have not shown ONE quote that supports this physical appearing by the Rod leaves no doubt that the Lord’s “restoring” message of Truth and the kingdom, means you are privately interpreting which is condemned by the Scriptures (and explained in Zech. 4 lesson). As far as the second study of the jubilee study, why go on to the second study when your first one is not grounded in the Rod (our present truth)? If you aren’t willing to concede this mistake then I will be of no help on the second. (2 Peter 1:20-21)

NO TYPE, NO TRUTH
This will be my last post on this site. You say I haven’t given you “one quote” to prove, here you are right—I have given you at least 10 quotes from the SOP that states exactly what happens at the Second Advent. Ellen G. White’s Testimony should hold some weight with modern day Davidians, wouldn’t you think? Remember there are two pipes.
Interestingly, the EGW Estate can not produce one statement from the SOP that states Jesus, at the Second Advent DOES NOT touch the earth. ref: William Fagal May 7, 2008.

GC 299 SOP confirms the context of Job 19:25-27 is at the Second Advent.

It is thought that only the wicked appear at the Great White Throne Judgment, however, this is True only AFTER the 1,000 years. At the time the crowns (rewards) are given out i.e. Rev. 22:12, all will appear to give account for their deeds (works), Matt. 25:31, 32. This is when the sheep and goats are separated to the left and to the right of Christ. Do you think the saints and the wicked are co-mingled in any way AFTER the 1,000 and then separated? Of course not. These texts make this clear:

Isn’t that amazing! Brother Houteff (the Elijah to come) had all those quotes you have and did not interpret Christ is to physically sit upon the throne–premillennially. Carry on brother -the Zech. 4 lesson of dipping your own pipe into the bowl is a warning directly to you, be aware.
