How many of us have ever been in a love affair, only to find it is one sided? It is very disheartening and sometimes even devastating. In regards to our Lord Jesus, it is clear He loved and loves us GREATLY. How many of us know that He asked for something in return? Yes, it is that we ALSO love Him!
The love was manifested in His brutal suffering He took for us so that we could be saved and live life eternal. So once we understand that Jesus did HIS PART to show His love for us it is only natural to ask “What can I DO to show this wonderful loving Lord that I LOVE HIM? This is indeed a most important question ALL true Christians should ask. Let’s look at the only real place to find the answer– God’s holy book- The Bible.
If we start in Genesis and read all the way to the end (Revelation) for a direct statement from God’s word of ” How” to love Him, we find it! As clear and pure and simple as possible . STRAIGHT FROM OUR LORD’S MOUTH! It is ” If you love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15) There it is! No misinterpreting this, no way , no how! The Lord, who undertook great suffering love for us, asks us to “Love Him” by doing something.
Ok, if this is what our Lord asks us to do, shall we ignore Him? Should we say “Oh Lord, you know I love you, but I don’t want to obey your Commandments” Ofcourse not! If we “love” Him we’ll do what He asks, correct? Many say ” I love you Lord” yet don’t care enough to do what He asks TO SHOW YOU LOVE HIM! As Jesus said “Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do NOT the things I say?” (Luke 6:46)
Now here is the really sad thing, most Christians ignore(John 14:15). The blindness is indeed worldwide and only those being guided by the Holy Spirit see this and obey accordingly. And ALWAYS remember Jesus AUTHORED the great Moral Law “All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made”(John 1:3)
So won’t you ask yourself today “Do I really LOVE Him and do what He asks me to do”? Please, don’t deceive yourself and “love” Him YOUR way. HE knows best for us, not we ourselves! It’s all about summiting to Him and BELIEVING HIS WORDS. For once we do what Jesus said to do (Keep His Commandments) we feel a true connection with Him. (1 John 2:3-4) ” For this is HOW we know we know Him, if we keep His Commandments. He that says ” I know him” and does not keep His Commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in Him”. Jesus asks us to LOVE HIM and isn’t He worth it for what He has done for us? amen.

You are confusing this passage (Jn.14:15) with the “ten commandments”. That is because you are on a one way railroad speeding down the track and all you see is the “ten”.
Christ said, “keep My commandments”. Did you ever spend some time in the Gospels and find out what where His commandments?
Just a few:
The new commandment (Jn.13:34)
Keeping the words of Christ (Jn.14:23-24)
Christ said, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you”. (Jn.15:12)
We are His friends (if) we do whatever He commanded (Jn.15:14)
And as far as 1Jn.2 goes, he is referring to Christ and His commands. In verse 2, he talks about Christ being our sacrifice for our sins. Then proceeding to verse 3, he says, “this is how we know Him” Who? Christ. Verse 4 it continues with Christ. Verse 5, by keeping “His” (Christ’s) word, the love of God is perfected. Verse 6, referring to Christ and how he lived.
Verses 7-11, refers to the “new commandment” that Christ commanded. “Loving our brother as we love ourselves”. Love is the fulfilment of the Law. This is very evident in the new testament coming from what Christ commanded.
No offence here, but you need to get away from “religious teachings” and go to The Great Teacher, The Holy Spirit.

Richard I am thankful for your desire to get away from religious teachings and your realization that all we need is God’s Word and His Holy Spirit to guide us.
That being said, try to imagine you’ve never heard the millions of “teachers” out there trying to convince everyone that Jesus came to destroy the law and that the Ten Commandments are no longer God’s will for our lives. If we then read through the entire Scriptures we see that those “teachers” are completely false.
Christ said, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” (Matt 5:17)
We cannot ignore the Words of Jesus and if we try to twist His meaning we “wrest the scriptures to our own destruction.” (2 Pet 3:16)
He showed us what it was to be a true follower of God…showed us what it was to walk according to God’s laws. And not only the letter, as the Pharisees, but the spirit of the law.
Starting in verse 21, Jesus spends the rest of Matthew chapter 5 teaching us about the Spirit of the law. He taught us that to hate is breaking the spirit of the commandment not to murder, and to lust is breaking the commandment not to commit adultery.
Since Christ has revealed the true spirit of the law, does that negate the letter? Is it now acceptable to God for the Christian to murder, as long as he doesn’t hate? Can the Christian commit adultery as long as he doesn’t lust? May it never be!
Was God’s law temporary? Please read through the Psalms and tell me what you read…for they are absolutely FILLED with the proclamation that God’s law is everlasting, holy, righteous and just.
“The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.” Psalm 111:7-8

You stole my lines! lol. Anyway, my dear brother is convinced the Holy “Moral Law” is somehow changed, lessened, and of no effect now. It is truly sad that a “brother” CANNOT or WILLNOT acknowledge God’s Holy loving Laws. Somehow he thinks he has “rose above” His righteous Laws and therefore treats them with disdain. Todd, Let us pray for his misguided spirit. He continues to break,by working week after week on His Holy day, His Holy Sabbath because it is NO LONGER Holy to him, amazing!

I believe the Spirit is working on his heart…why else would he read this blog and leave comments? Praise God!
I KNOW that as a believer he cannot deny that a Christian should NOT murder, commit adultery, lie, steal or covet…and that a Christian should NOT have any gods before God, worship idols or take the Lord’s name in vain…
Since he cannot deny that Christians should live by those commandments he is left with the glaring inconsistency that those who have taught him still believe we should live by 9 commandments.
THEN he must ask himself the reason for this contradiction in their teachings…that the Ten Commandments have been done away with BUT we should still keep NINE of them.

Yes, I believe his teachings have not brought to him the real “truth”. You are correct that he (or any other Christian) cannot deny that the Holy Laws are righteous. So if they are righteous and loving, WHY does he continue to disparage His Laws(?) They represent God’s character. It is CERTAINLY NOT the Holy Spirit that has guided him on this. It is PRIDE and puffed up FALSE knowledge that allows him to continue in this way, sadly.

And we reveal the love and truth of God to him…you and I are the body of Christ. It’s pretty awesome! We sow the seeds and God does the rest. Richard and others like him who are so sadly misled cannot deny the plain truth forever…eventually they will have to make a choice to be with God or against Him. The more truth we give him the harder it will be for him to deny the Spirit’s promptings.
But if he keeps denying the truth there will be a point when he will no longer hear the Spirit’s voice.
“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thes 2:9-12
Richard…please consider carefully whether what you believe is the truth ACCORDING to the Bible only, and not the teachings you’ve heard from men.
Please think about the phrase “the lawless one” and how he’s associated with those who did not love the truth and were condemned because they “had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

Well bro, as usual I guess you’ll ignore my question. we should be willing to search for the “truth” and how can this be if you make your statements but don’t clairify when asked a question? May God steer you on the straight and truthful path. But I do worry about you as you don’t really understand WHY he died for us. It was because we KEPT breaking His Holy Law! But to you His Law amounts to nothing and shouldn’t even be dwelt upon. Sort of a free wheeling ‘spiritualism” and just roam around speaking about our Lord and NOT telling people to OBEY Him AND His Holy Laws as new believers in Christ. I do pray for you bro.

Weel when i read the post that you all post here, I found out that you all love God very much and really want to love Him.
My question here.
If we want to Love God,
should we ask our self how to love Him?
should we ask our friends how to Love Him?
should we ask our church how to LOve Him?
Should we ask God how to love Him?
Well we should ask God how He want us to LOve Him.

Is God comandment bad?
Because some Christians follow and the other part said we dont have to follow?

When i read the Bible, i found out that who is this men?
He die for me?
And my family too?
so i get excited about who is this men.

so i dont find any difficulties to obey His commandment.

We do everything to get that Love.
