Recently I was watching a sermon by one of the most spirited filled preachers of our time–Mr. Doug Batchelor , of www.amazingfacts.org . Which by the way, is a great site to learn about the “truth” in the bible and not man’s interpretations.
I click on the archives section of AFPresents and found a interesting sermon called “Ten times wiser”. I thought it might be about the commandments but instead it was about “healthy eating and drinking”. I watched and learned. Then about midway into the sermon Doug shows scripture that says (Isaiah 66:17) They……that eat swine flesh, and the filth, and the mouse, shall perish together, says the Lord” I knew that “Pork” wasn’t really healthy, as it is well know that it contains a greater degree of “bugs” and other bacteria than other meats. But nevertheless I was blown away that our Lord had said that! So I finish watching the sermon.
But the next day when I awoke I still had the thought about our Lord saying He’ll destroy all who eat pork. I thought as I awoke “I need some clarification on this” While I definitely don’t eat pork, I know some seemingly “good” people who do. So I arose from bed and I looked up and asked our Lord “Lord I am really confused, are you really going to destroy people who eat pork? Ok, I’ll wait for your answer” And that was all there was to the small prayer. I got up and had breakfast.
After breakfast I decided to turn on the religious TV station (as it was Sabbath) just to see what they were saying. I turn it on and it happened to have on it a particularly FALSE teaching organization called “camp meeting”. They continually, and I mean continually, ask for money and their favorite line is “Just send 100 or 1000 dollars to PLANT your seed to recieve blessings from God” So I knew their words were not to be trusted. Anyway as soon as I turn it on the preacher is talking about EATING PORK! He is just matter of factly saying “we always cut our ham a certain way, blah, blah, blah” Here was a false teacher recommending pork! WOW! talk about the Lord answering my prayer quickly! The Lord doesn’t mess around when He wants to reveal something important. So the bottom line is, If they are serving pork to you RUN the other way! It has been shown to me He meant what he said! Amen Lord, YOU tell us.
For those of you who doubt this, google “what happens to pork when you put coke on it”. The germs and bugs in this meat is truly amazing.

Yeah Todd, what was exciting is He answers so unexpectedly. I was not even thinking the answer would come so quick,lol. But as soon as I heard the preacher say pork is a common meal of family, I knew! He makes it so we can clearly see His answer.

Oh brother!
There you go again! Living under the “old covenant” (or learning from those that are stuck in them). Christ has set us free from Old Testament bondage! We are not under “law”, but the ‘law of The Spirit” in Christ Jesus. It has “set me free from the law of sin and death”(Rom.8:2). Hallelujah!
“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes”. (10:4)
The Apostle Paul address this very same issue regarding “meats”. Whatever meat can be eaten as long as it has not been offered to an idol.(1Cor.10:23-31).
“So let no one judge you in food or drink, or regarding a feast day or a new moon or Sabbaths,
which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ”.(Gal.2:16-17).
He goes on and says, “If you died with Christ (there is the key) from what? “the basic principles of the world” (that is what they are) “so why then as living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations” (that is what they are!) “Do not touch, do not taste, (there you go) do not handle,”
Ah the next two verses put a lid on it. “according to the commandments and doctrines of men”
Ans here is what they will do for you! This is the best that you will get from doing these things!
“they have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility……….. (Gal.2:20-23)
So my brother, flee this “self-imposed religion” that these men are trying to put you in!
I spent 10yrs in this, I know what I am talking about! There is no end to it. Before long, they will have you 10 miles down the road in legalism. Believe me, then it will be hard to break out of, I know.

I have tried to respond you many times about your false beliefs( especially in regards to OBEDIENCE)And every time I have used SCRIPTURE but every time I do, you ignore my points. I know it’s “easy” to accuse a brother of living in “bondage” but how about if we READ what the BIBLE says??? Almost All my prior questions were never answered, are your REALLY wanting to know the truth? If so, acknowledge my points and I will yours, deal?
I’ll address ALL your points one by one and after you’ve read them, IF you really want to know the truth, tell me where in scripture I’m not telling the truth and I’ll immediately agree with your belief that Faith WITHOUT obedience( His moral Law) is what God wants.. But because you have made some serious accusations I will post a complete response to your points on my next blog, then fell free to point out where I am wrong, your Bro. Ps. One point you continually forget is that I am NOT inclined to blindly follow as I understand you have done in the past, sorry It’s just not my personality.

2) PLEASANT OR A CELEBRATORY ATMOSPHERE. IT WAS GLOOMY, FRIGHTENING AND OMINOUS. THIS ERIE BDAY SONG PLAYED BUT IT WAS LIKE ON 33 WHEN THE RECORD SHOULD BE 45. Dear Yolanda, I am curious what makes you think the SDA is a cult? They believe in 1) loving our fellow beings as we love oursevles 2) honoring and keeping the 10 Commandments 3) Keeping each and every Sabbath day ( Friday sunset to Saturday sunset) How does those beliefs fall into a cult?
