WHAT ABOUT PETER AND THE “KEYS”?

December 17, 2023

“Question No. 95:

Please explain Matthew 16:15-19. Why did Christ give the Keys to Peter? Why not to another, or to all?

Answer:

Peter was the only one who gave the right answer to the question, “But whom say ye that I am?” Therefore to Peter and to none other, Jesus said, “I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven,” having first assured him that “flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto” him but His Father which is in heaven.

When God makes man to understand something which is beyond finite knowledge, the Bible terms the act, Inspiration. Hence, Jesus pronounced Peter inspired. This Inspiration and Jesus’ testimony, therefore, were the Keys to the central theme of man’s salvation–knowledge of the Son of God. This is the truth, the gospel, that had to be proclaimed. It was the Present Truth–an inspired message direct from God. Thus possessed of a revelation by which every man was to be judged either for salvation or for condemnation, Peter and his associates became responsible either to lock or to unlock salvation to every living soul under heaven.

Consequently, when Christ gave the Keys to Peter, He gave him the gospel and a divine commission to preach it. And so long as Peter and his co-workers were true to this charge, just so long did they possess the Keys to lock or to unlock to men the kingdom of God, and to have sanctioned in heaven whatever they bound or loosed on earth. Accordingly, with Inspiration and progressive revelation, Present Truth, go the Keys.

Obviously, therefore, a message from heaven, proclaimed by God’s chosen servants, is all-powerful, and by it man’s eternal destiny is decided.

Plainly, then, the Keys are not the church herself, but are in the message which she proclaims. So no man or set of men has power to loose or bind with Heaven’s approval save at the instance of a message vouchsafed directly from Heaven for them to bear for the time then present: “Different periods in the history of the church have each been marked by the development of some special truth, adapted to the necessities of God’s people at that time.”–The Great Controversy, p. 609. It has been so from time immemorial.

Noah, too, had the Keys, and was thus able to loose or bind both in heaven and on earth. The fact that even “the gates of hell” could not prevail against the ark, bears witness to this.

And God’s promise to Abraham, “I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” (Gen. 12:3), shows that he, too, had the Keys of heaven.

Also, in the Providentially controlled hand of Moses, the Keys swung open the gates of the kingdom to the freedom and salvation of the righteous, and closed them in doom upon the wicked. Thus “Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind. If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the Lord hath not sent me. But if the Lord make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all the appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord. And it came to pass as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them: and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.” Num. 16:28-32.

Through Moses God committed the Keys to the Hebrew host, and withdrew them in Christ’s day when the Jews rejected Him. Then He transferred the Keys to the founders of the Christian church.

But notwithstanding the example of the past the adherents of the apostles eventually also repeated the mistakes of Moses’ followers. Yet throughout the Dark Ages, and especially during the Reformation period, God continued to entrust messenger after messenger, and Movement after Movement, with the Divine legacy. But again and again down through the Reformation to the call of William Miller, each successive group repeated the folly of becoming satisfied with a static message, until finally when all the Protestant churches of Miller’s day rejected the message for that time, they, too, unwittingly refused to be any longer the custodians of the sacred Keys.

Thus Miller and his associates possessed them until the time of God’s next message, the judgment of the dead, when the sacred Keys passed from the Millerite Movement to the Seventh-day Adventist denomination. But if it now rejects God’s pleadings to anoint its eyes with the eyesalve which He is offering to it, it too, will let the Keys slip from its grasp and pass into the hands of those who are to proclaim the additional message, the judgment of the living, the message of the Loud Cry. (See Early Writings, pp. 277-279). And, tragedy of tragedies! this very thing the Laodiceans are in their blindness doing, thereby repeating the history of God’s people through the ages.” (Answer Book, vol. 4, p.37-41)

What we can learn from our Catholic Friends

August 19, 2023

Raised as a Catholic, yours truly learned firsthand many things concerning the Catholic Church. In this post, we will look at some customs of this Church and compare that to my current faith –Seventh-day Adventist.

First before we begin, I would like to point out that although the Catholic Church has many benevolent qualities, it is still mired in many ways. Among the most profound errors that come from it, are the idolization of humans (Pope, Mary, and the Saints for example), false doctrines, and the changing of the Commandments.

“It is true that there are real Christians in the Roman Catholic communion. Thousands in that church are serving God according to the best light they have. They are not allowed access to His word, and therefore they do not discern the truth. They have never seen the contrast between a living heart service and a round of mere forms and ceremonies. God looks with pitying tenderness upon these souls, educated as they are in a faith that is delusive and unsatisfying. He will cause rays of light to penetrate the dense darkness that surrounds them. He will reveal to them the truth as it is in Jesus, and many will yet take their position with His people.”(Great Controversy, p.565)

This being said, we shall look at her more admiring qualities that we as SDA can learn from and hopefully come in line with.

1) Head covering

When you attend Catholic services, you will often see the women covered with head coverings. Although the new generations aren’t as faithful in this custom as times past, it still is a practice observed by many of the Catholic women (especially the older women). Within the SDA Church this custom is practically non-existent. Only a rare few can be seen doing it. However, the “advanced” SDA, meaning those who have kept pace with the unrolling of the scroll DO WEAR THEM. What do we mean by advanced SDA?

Briefly explained, this means those within the SDA Church who strictly and literally believe in God’s word  and His prophecies, called Davidian Seventh-day Adventists. They believe that a “final” prophet was sent to our SDA Church, and that promise is found in Malachi 4:5-6. The SDA, for the most part, either says it is symbolic or that Ellen White fulfilled that promise. Although that is mocking God’s word despite what EGW herself prophesied —

“Prophecy must be fulfilled. The Lord says: “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.” Somebody is to come in the spirit and power of Elijah, and when he appears, men may say: “You are too earnest, you do not interpret the Scriptures in the proper way. Let me tell you how to teach your message.”(Testimonies to Ministers, p.475)

To say the prophetess meant “she” when she said “he” is nothing short of gaslighting and mockery of the plain English language. Now,  once the DSDA study and learn the writings of a man named Victor Houteff, who DSDA believe is that prophesied prophet to come, they soon learn that this final message of Elijah makes clear the issue of head coverings.

SHALL THE WOMAN LEAVE HER HAT ON WHEN THE MAN TAKES HIS OFF?

Question No. 119:

What does Paul mean in 1 Corinthians 11  concerning the woman covering her head? Does not verse 15 show that the hair is her covering?

Answer:

“But I would,” says the Holy Spirit, “have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” 1 Cor. 11:3.

Note the order in which divinity and humanity are linked: God, Christ, the man, the woman. Thus it is that “every man praying or prophesying,  having his head covered, dishonoureth his head [God]. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth  her head [the man]: for that is even all one as if she where shaven.

For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn [that is, if a woman will not wear a hat, then let her cut off her hair]: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered [let her wear a hat]. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.” 1 Cor. 11:4-8.

This scripture plainly teaches that a man ought to take his hat off when praying or prophesying (teaching the Scriptures), while the woman should put hers on. One could not logically conclude from 1 Cor. 11:15  that the woman’s hair is the covering referred to.  If such were the case, then logically the man should shave his head in order to make the distinction between the two.

Moreover, if the woman’s hair is the covering required, then why would the Scriptures say she is to wear it when “praying or prophesying”? What else could she do? And could she take off her hair (covering) when not praying, unless she wore a wig?

The Scriptures therefore make it clear that any religious occasion which requires the man to take his hat off, requires the woman to put hers on. (Answerer, vol. 5, Q-119)

2) Modesty in dress

For the most part in a Catholic Church service, you will see modest dressing, both males and females. This custom has stood firm for many decades. Again, the newer generations can be seen to not reflect this custom as much, but overall this seems still the custom. The SDA church is not so concerned with this. In fact, in our local Churches, lazy street clothes by the men and women’s short skirts are often in plain view within the sanctuary.

“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.”(1 Tim. 2:9-10)

The Bible clearly says modest dressing is reflective of the Christian life. There are just too many references, both in Ellen White’s writings and Victor Houteff’s, to plead ignorance of this injunction.

3) Reverance in the Sanctuary

“Ye shall keep My sabbaths, and reverence My sanctuary; I am the Lord.” (Lev. 19:30)

“It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves” (Matthew 21:12-13)

Let us not forget that God’s house, His place of worship, is to have holy reverence in it. This custom is another one found within the Catholic Church that is commendable. You rarely see people shaking hands, laughing, talking, playing with their cell phones, etc within that Church. I remember as a kid that holy reverence and it gave the sense of God’s presence within her. Contrast that to the SDA Church, and you will see all of the lack of reverence aforementioned and more. Nearly NO HOLY REVERANCE is noticed within her.

Now because of these dire shortcomings within our Church, inspiration has given several warnings.

“There is a lack of moral and spiritual power throughout our Conferences. Many churches do not have light in themselves. The members do not give evidence that they are branches of the True Vine, by bearing much fruit to the glory of God, but appear to be withering away…They understand not the true application of the Scriptures, nor the power of God. They have eyes, but they see not; ears have they, but they hear not; they continue in their evil ways, yet regard themselves as the privileged, obedient people who are doers of the word.

A carnal security and ease in Zion prevail. Peace, peace, is sounded in her borders, when God has not spoken peace. They have forfeited the terms of peace; there is reason for an alarm to be sounded in all “my holy mountain.” The sinners in Zion should be afraid, in a time when they do not expect it, sudden destruction will surely come upon all who are at ease.” (RH December 23, 1890)

So we see that we as Adventists can indeed learn from our Catholic friends the above-said issues. Sadly, not only has the SDA fallen into such abominations but she has also, to a large degree, rejected the Lord’s final message of Elijah. A very sad situation indeed!

In closing, despite the Catholic shortcomings, many of our Catholic friends, who walk in all the light they have now, will indeed one day see the light and come into His kingdom, praise His holy name.

An Amazing Presentation

May 20, 2023

Let’s face it: ever since the great Waco disaster in April of 1993, Davidian Seventh-day Adventists have had a “branding problem” as the above presenter “Joshua Lindsey” described in his recent YouTube video presentation.

The Scriptures say “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” ( 2 Tim. 2:15)

Joshua has done his homework and we are sure the Great King above is approving what Joshua has provided as a largely accurate description of the faith known as Davidian Seventh-day Adventist. He sums up beliefs, current controversies, and historical information.  This is impressive as he is not either a DSDA or SDA, but did in-depth studies to learn about the DSDA movement.

Being a part of DSDA for approximately 12 years now, we can attest to what was presented as for the most part — accurate. This is so refreshing because over the years we have seen videos, online reports, and other media, often give error-filled information on our movement. As he presents, many he says, have a mistaken idea that Branch Davidians are the same as Davidian Seventh-day Adventists. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

We also want to thank him for giving this Blog a mention in his video. He used the following blog post to help explain who a DSDA really is.

https://godsloveandlaw.com/2015/01/17/who-really-is-a-davidian-seventh-day-adventist/

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:15)

For those interested in getting a true and largely accurate knowledge of our DSDA movement here is Joshua’s video link.

Extreme Worry and Fear

November 14, 2020
Worry-Rumination — Cognitive Health Group, PLLC

Here in the US, we seem to be in a simmering election chaos. Our nation is as polarized as it has ever been. Joe Biden and his team has declared victory, despite reports of rampant voter fraud. And the globalist main stream media is in lockstep with them.

On the other side, President Trump is in the oval office planning out his strategic counter moves to establish, what many people feel is, a much-needed investigation into what happened in this year’s voting process. Dead people alledged to have voted, ballots being duplicated and so on, point to a redrawing up the results, the Trump team says.

But when we step back from this confusion, we find comfort in God’s word, let us read —

“He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” (Daniel 2:21)

So despite what we see from a very limited understanding, we should rest upon the fact that the Lord knows what is going on, and indeed, He is making it all happen according to His purposes!

Within the last week, we have received several inquiries as to what are we to make of all this. Fear is the primary motive why people are asking questions right now. They sense something is seriously changing in the world and they are right. We are, we beleive , on the cusp of dramatic world changing events.

But we as present truth beleivers are supposed to have great light yes? So it hurts us to see such worry and doubt. Just recently we got this video from a sister. It is popular online and shows much far and wide trouble coming soon.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfBAHZYE4Sg&feature=share

But this video is a perfect example of what the heathen and false religions of the world worry about. They show that “man” is about to do this bad thing or that bad thing in the world, yet they don’t really know the great “I Am”.

The Word says –

“He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” (Psalms 46:9-11)

Is it not an offense to the great King to show and spread such worry, fear, and doubt? This is what is truly worrisome! The doubt and lack of faith exhibited now by many, even those who should know better.

“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

The heathen have an excuse, they knoweth not the King, but we do, or at least we who profess His name should know Him. Again our King clears the matter —

“Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind. Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, “What? Are we blind too?” Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.” (John 9: 39-41)

You see brethren, those who have faith shall know that the Lord is just about to reveal His power and this will come through His servants, let us read the very near prophecy —

“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness. They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:

Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.

The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.” (Joel 2:1-13)

There are 2 big fears right now in the world.

1 — Covid 19 and the so-called “pandemic”. This, as our readers know, is a two edge sword. First, it is the globalists last-ditch effort for world-wide control. The Rothschild’s led world hierarchy is attempting to get their long hoped for one world order finalized and in place. Only trouble is– the Lord has other plans!

Second, the Lord in His ever-loving faithfulness, as we posted as well, has caused the “peace and safety” worship services in the SDA church to largely cease for now. This means there is an opportunity for the church members to look elsewhere (private studies, meetings, online, YouTube, conference calls, etc,) where the Lord’s final message of Elijah is freely discussed. Unlike the hindering and censoring the SDA leaders do to the faithful messengers in the church today. This is the Lord’s vineyard where He is waiting

2 — World unrest and violence. It seems the great trouble of spoken in Daniel 12 is just about ready to be unleashed upon the world. The four winds described in Rev. 7 are to be loosed after the 144,000th faithful one is found in the SDA church
.

So in conclusion, let us not waste time worrying and be fearful of things that really are in the Lord’s hands. He shall execute HIS plans flawlessly and all we have to do is —

“Do not be afraid; only believe..” (Luke 8:50)

Jesus For 2020

Thousands Put Up 'Jesus 2020' Signs Ahead of Election: 'He's the ...

We are approaching the big election day on November 3. The USA masses are privately and publicly declaring their candidate preference. Yet recently we saw a truly righteous and truthful sign as shown above! The way things are going, we may very well see HIM win! In other words, the prophecies about end-time and His kingdom seem on the verge of happening.

The message dealt with the subject of voting  —

IS VOTING BECOMING TO A CHRISTIAN?

Question No. 145:

Is it right to vote?

Answer:

As the franchise is one of the inalienable rights of a free people, there cannot be any wrong in exercising it if thereby either the law or offices of the land can be better served. To cast a vote though, which will further such an end, requires conscientious study; failing that, one’s vote can only be unintelligent guesswork, and thus adverse rather than conducive to good government.

Those, therefore, who are in no position to devote the time and study necessary to inform themselves on political issues sufficiently to qualify them to vote intelligently on them, cannot conscientiously cast such a vote.

Being ministers of the gospel, with our time completely preoccupied with the spiritual interests of the people, we ourselves are not able to give attention to their political interests also, just as the people’s political representatives are not able to give proper attention to their spiritual needs also. And therefore rarely, if ever, do we see our way clear to vote.” (Answerer, vol. 5, p. 75)

Pretty clear wouldn’t you say? Are we to spend our time studying issues that we are foreign about, or are we to spend our time doing HIS work in His vineyard? Seems a no brainer. Further, we know that the Lord has full control of kings in high places —

“He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.”(Daniel 2:21)

Right now we see a very strong divide in our country. It’s similar to the time in Lincoln’s presidency. For a good historical account on our past civil national war, this article is a fine one–

https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/aia/part4/4p2967.html

But no matter, God’s people are to be above the fray. The prophecies are very shortly to happen one after another. Those who know them feel secure and put great truth in God’s promises. Let us briefly show the next four events to come in a timeline. Ofcourse this is a general summary, much details are not included.

1 — The great war predicted in Zech 14: 1-9 and Zeph 2:1-3, over the middle east , specifically Israel.

2-  At the time of this war, the Lord is to begin the “great and dreadful day of the Lord” by executing the beginning of the judgment for the living with the SDA church. Ezek.9  happens to startle the world. This judgment then extends to the rest of the world and takes place as the 144,000 saints of God declare this final kingdom message.

(For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begins at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17)

3 — The war is over and the 144,000 that survive in the SDA church judgment begin their journey home to the land of their fathers. Ezekiel 36:16-38 is then to be fulfilled. Oh brethren, when we read these words of the Lord –what powerful, beautiful, and righteous promises! Let us read–

“Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.

Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:

And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the Lord, and are gone forth out of his land.

But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord God; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord God, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

Thus saith the Lord God; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.

Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the Lord build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the Lord have spoken it, and I will do it.

Thus saith the Lord God; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the Lord.”

4 — The 144,000, then begin to go out into the world, to give the final message of the Lord in warning as prophesied in the following —

“And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

So despite what we see all around, political upheaval and unrest, with president Trump declaring he will make America great again, Biden saying he will make masks mandatory and let open the borders. If we are present truth believers we have no time to worry about the politcal unrest, mandatory vaccine threats , loss of freedoms, or whatever else the heathen’s are afraid of.  Let us remember God is in control and we should be able to stand off from afar and with perfect detachment say —

“Thy Kingdom come Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven..” (Matt. 6:10)

God’s everliving Hope

June 6, 2020

The Apostle Paul and His Times: Christian History Timeline ...

Apostle Paul continued to write about the hope in our King —

“We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.” (1 Thes. 1:2-4)

Down through the ages, this has been our Christian belief –that hope is everliving and God delivers those who love Him.  Apostle Paul was certainly one of the most prominent of God’s servants who expressed this hope, in fact, the following Scriptures make it clear of his everliving hope.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thes, 4:16-17)

“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. “ (1 Cor. 15:50-52)

Knowing these Scriptures from our view today we know that the Apostle was speaking more for a future time in the prophetic timeline. But as we read them it shows that the servant had hope that he would remain alive and be changed in a twinkling of an eye.

Yet the unfaithful and weak of faith, surely could have used those words as proof that he was a false prophet. They could spread word that his whole movement was false because Paul did indeed die. He lied in other words.

They failed to see that God did not remove His people’s hope. A similar example is a time when the Lord was about to descend to the Father. Let us read —

“Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.” (Acts 1:6-7)

The Apostles had the hope that they would see the long hoped for Kingdom prophesied in the Old Testament Scriptures. We notice the Lord did not say “No, I will not.” They were keenly aware of the pre-millennial kingdom, the one described throughout Scripture  In Isaiah, Micah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, etc. But their hope was to remain, not taken away.

Fast forward to the Lord’s last prophet predicted in Malachi 4:5-6. Did he also have this everliving hope? Let us see.

Recently we have had a very intense spiritual battle with the spirits of darkness. Not with Satan himself or his angels but rather through their human agents. These agents have been around for many years, doing much private interpretations and thereby doing private construction of God’s word. In other words, they teach strange fire doctrines. Let us tell of a specific issue.

They are known as “Wave Sheaf Ministry”. This label is most likely made because one of their primary teachings being that current present truth believers, aka. Davidian  Seventh-day Adventists, will be the “first of the first fruits” of the living and the first to survive what is known by them as the “day of reckoning”. The Lord, according to them, is to “suddenly come to His temple” and purify Davidian SDA.

And then after this DSDA judgment, the remaining servants go out and bring in the remained (balance of the 144,000) from the SDA church. Thus they are the final Loud Cry servants of Rev. 7:1-4, who bring in the Great Mulititude (Rev. 7:9).

In doing this teaching, in effect, they are taking the servants of God’s attention from our most important task–spreading the message of Elijah to the Seventh-day Adventist church! To us, it is surely  “strange fire doctrine”. Praise the Lord not many DSDA are snagged.

So let us break down this deception and provide clarity of the issue.

In the Tract know as “The Levitcus of the DSDA” it reads —

“The name, Davidian, deriving from the name of the king of Ancient Israel, accrues to this Association by reason of its following aspects: First, it is dedicated to the work of announcing and bringing forth the restoration (as predicted in Hosea 1:11; 3:5) of David’s kingdom in antitype, upon the throne of which Christ, “the son of David,” is to sit.

Second, it purports itself to be the first of the first fruits of the living, the vanguard from among the present-day descendants of those Jews who composed the Early Christian Church. With the emergence of this vanguard and its army, the first fruits, from which are elected the 12,000 out of each of the twelve tribes of Jacob, “the 144,000″ (Rev. 14:1; 7:2-8) who stand on Mount Zion with the Lamb (Rev. 14:1; 7:2-8), the reign of antitypical David begins.” (page 3)

Three other references  —

“The Lord wants us to know that when He turns away our captivity He will also make us a name and a praise among all the people of the earth. This kingdom of Judah (the church purified and set apart), is therefore, not only pre-millennial, but also probationary. And how glad we ought to be for the privilege to be among the first of the first fruits.” (1 TG, no.23, p.9)

“…Everyone who is well informed in the message that Mt. Carmel is proclaiming, knows that Mt. Carmel is in no way endeavoring to take any institutions, but rather is endeavoring to bring about that reformatory movement long-foretold by Sister White in ‘Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 9, p. 126. However, it is true that we expect ‘a 144,000’ members from the SDA denomination to join us, after which a GREAT MULTITUDE from every nation, kindred, tongue, and people is to swell our membership so greatly that ‘no man could number’ it.” ( 3 SC no. 11,  p.2)

When we see these words penned by brother Houteff, what do we see? We see his everliving hope. The prophet expressed hope that he, along with his group, would indeed be the first of the first fruits, the vanguard that will lead out the movement to the kingdom. God did not take that hope away just as He did not do with the Apostles. But just like with brother Paul, brother Victor spoke more for our time than  theirs.

Looking at these words we know, just as in Paul’s writings,  that they are to be applied today. We as present truth believers are indeed leading out, the vanguard as it were. Our movement is still known as Davidian Seventh-day Adventists.

Yet the great twister of the Word knows how to hook and snare, especially with those who have a desire to exalt themselves. Instead of following the Rod counsel in trying to understand the above references, the Wave Sheaf group puts a whole different view upon them.

“The most common cause of doctrinal confusion among Bible students lies in their so very frequently failing to view a subject in full perspective from the writer’s point of view, — a failing which results in their seeing it from some foreign standpoint so narrowing their view that instead of gaining the writer’s idea on the subject, they gain a false idea on it. And if the idea be to their liking, they magnify and zealously promote it as truth, whereas if it be not to their liking, they vigorously oppose it, and then lay it to the responsibility of the writer!” (Tract 3, p.91)

In the Lev. Tract quote they have made a whole doctrine of the subject “first of the first fruits”. They inject the meaning of that reference to mean that we as Davidians are to be the wave sheaf of the living! In other words upon the day of reckoning, the purification of Davidians, there will be a small number of servants that survive and are to be presented before the Father as the living wave sheaf of the living. The first of the first fruits of the Harvest for the living.

But if we are grounded upon the Rod(Micah 6:9) , the Lord’s final message of Elijah we cannot be snared. The Rod is too clear to misunderstand this subject —

“Just as Christ and those whom He raised and took with Him became the prototypical sheaf, betokening the ingathering of the first fruits (the 120) of those who are to be resurrected, so also when He entered upon His priestly ministration in the first apartment of the heavenly sanctuary, and presented Himself and His trophies before His Father, they became the antitypical sheaf, betokening the ingathering of the first fruits of those who are to be translated (the 144,000 living saints). In the light of this parallel, the spiritual condition of the 120 before the apostolic Pentecost is clearly seen to typify the spiritual condition of the 144,000 before the future Pentecost.” (Tract 3, p.85-86)

“Just as Christ arose on the very day the sheaf was to be offered, likewise the Holy Spirit fell upon the 120 disciples on the very day the wave-loaves were to be presented before the Lord. The apostolic Pentecost was accordingly the prototype of the ceremonial Pentecost (the day the wave-loaves were offered). And since the wave-sheaf was a figure of Christ and of those who arose with Him as the first of the first fruits of the dead, hence the wave-loaves were a figure on the 120 Spirit-filled disciples who were the full complement of first fruits of the dead, and who were gathered in after the resurrection.

From these facts it can more clearly be seen that those whom Christ took with Him were the living wave-sheaf and the only one that has been offered in the heavenly sanctuary; and that as ones raised from the dead, they are the first fruits of the dead, whereas as ones everliving before the Father, they are the living wave-sheaf of the first fruits of the living, the 144,000 servants of God, who sequentially precede The Second Fruits And The Feast Of Tabernacles.”(Tract 3, p.79-80)

Thus we see that there is no need to be confused. The message says Christ our King and those who arose with Him are the “living wave sheaf” of the 144,000.

The deceiver and his agents try hard, though, the deceive with cunningly devised fables. If we are not well-read and thorough students, we may be snared. So we MUST do as counseled–

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” ( 2 Tim. 2:15)

When we step back and look at this issue we see that God’s everliving hope is alive and shown through His prophets. It is only Satan and his agents that mis-construe God’s Word. How thankful we should be that we are promised the “Spirit of Truth” and that He guides us into “all Truth” –Amen!

“However when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come.” (John 16:13)

A Re-Routing of the Flock

April 4, 2020

Fall Archives | Visit Sun Valley

The word reroute according to our dictionary means —

“send (someone or something) by or along a different route.” (Google dictionary)

As many of us know all too well by now, our life has been changed, a rerouting has occurred. Things have altered drastically with a suddenness that is truly breathtaking! Yet, we as God’s professed people at these times need to pray and sup with our King. Then only will we know what to make of this all!

This is exactly what yours truly did these last couple weeks and I would like to relate what transpired in my “sup” with our King. In “supping” we may be walking, driving the car, just about anywhere and correspond back and forth (a conversation more or less) with the Lord as He promised in Rev.3:20 —

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.”

As we mentioned in a prior post, the idea of some type of church persecution, as we are experiencing now, just didn’t add up to me. After all the four winds are to be held back UNTIL the 144,000 are all found and sealed (Rev. 7:1-4). So I needed to inquire of the Lord–“Lord just what is going on here?”

The answer came back as only the Lord can respond! This is NOT any type of church persecution rather an opportunity for us as God’s remnant people! You ask–how so? Allow us to explain.

As we who are striving to be among that number all too well know our church is in dire condition right now. SOP explains —

“Men and women are in the last hours of probation, and yet are careless and stupid, and ministers have no power to arouse them; they are asleep themselves. Sleeping preachers preaching to a sleeping people!” (Testimonies, vol. 2, p.337)

The Lord, frankly from all we can gather is regarding our church services as Scripture says —

I hate, I despise your religious festivals; your assemblies are a stench to me.
Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them.
Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them.
Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. (Amos 5:21-23)

A few years ago we did a post called “The Church of the Routine” which described our current lifeless services.

https://godsloveandlaw.com/2010/05/01/the-church-of-the-routine/

So where are we going with all this? Just this, the Lord appears to have had it! He has allowed the government to close our church FOR A REASON! The time fo our SDA probation is almost over!

Our church, yes the Seventh-day Adventist church is just about ready for her visitation spoken of in many places in His Word , such as —

“I will send My messenger, who will prepare the way before Me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to His temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.

But who can endure the day of His coming? Who can stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years.

So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear Me,” says the Lord Almighty.”(Mal. 3:1-5)

Ok , let’s look at what we now are experiencing. We know that Satan is the master of fear and death. We know that this earth’s kingdom is run by a few massively wealthy families who also largely own the media (except the internet!). Our Lord did not dispute that in Matt. 4:8-9 —

“Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

So, this being the case Satan’s world leaders have now made their move. Churches are closed, freedom is restricted. The method of choice is this monster, which their media has painted as a gigantic plague. The facts are clear though that the truth is not that this is so deadly as to the fact that the media has produced such fear and dread!

We all remember the swine flu that was prominent back in 2008-2010. That caused tremendously more deaths and spread much further than the Chinese flu. Yet where was the panic? No restriction was placed because the covert operation was not ready then. The Covid19 should really be labeled the Covert19, as it is a covert planned operation started in 2019 in China.

For those who doubt that this really is a LARGE SCAM, see this video —

https://www.foxnews.com/media/physician-blasts-cdc-coronavirus-death-count-guidelines

Regardless of these facts, our main concern though as God’s remnant people is that we should seek to know “why” the Lord has allowed this.  Our answer is quite simple yet brilliant.

THE LORD HAS CLOSED DOWN THE SPIRITLESS ASSEMBLIES NOW. FOR A LAST CHANCE FOR HIS PEOPLE TO LEARN/ACCEPT HIS FINAL MESSAGE OF ELIJAH. –wow!

You see brethren the leaders of the church have undeniably hindered this final message of Elijah , aka Shepherd’s Rod. Anyone who has tried to proclaim this in the church, especially during our service time and study meetings, has been either censored, rebuked, or disfellowshiped.

It is as the Lord prophesied —

The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured.

You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals.  My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.

“‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord:  As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock,  therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord.

This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.

“‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.  As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.” (Ezek. 34:1-12)

So now what can the SDA members do? They have time to search for His message and that is the part of the vineyard where God’s messengers are not hindered. It is Facebook, YouTube, Blogs, email studies, phone conferences, etc. Here they will now be able to see without hindrance His message that will seal them!

Wonderful are His plans, perfect ways, and love to the very end!

In summary brethren, these are the very last hours of our probation, God is pulling out all stops, will you hear, will you come into the anti-typical Noahs’ ark before its too late?

Blocking eyes/hearts to the Truth

November 30, 2019

NOTE: Recently we were made aware that unfortunately for quite a while our blog has been infiltrated with numerous worldly ads from our WebHost. We know that has been a big distraction in reading our posts. We did not solicit these ads nor did we agree with what they are advertising. So we have made arrangements with our WebHost to cancel them. Please enjoy our ad-free site once more, like it was in the early years of our site. We have a serious message to give to God’s people and can’t afford to have distractions — Thank you!

In John 12:40 we read —

“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn–and I would heal them.”

There is no doubt that the so-called Religious “Scholars” of Jesus’ day were about as blind as one could be –in knowing Truth.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

Pilate in his inquiry of what is truth asked the Lord the all-important question. Of course, the King was not about to get into doctrinal matters with a heathen governor who was ready to issue an important part in the redemption of man plan.

“Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all. (John 18:37-38)

So we know as Christians that–

1. Jesus is the Truth

2. All that really know Jesus knows Truth

Yes, this is very basic Christianity but so vast and deep. Although simple in it’s description, it is so numerous in its misapplication and true understanding. Let us look at an example.

Brother R has been a “street preacher” for several decades. He came to “know Jesus” by reading the Bible and attending regular Sunday services. But brother R has a stubborn “I know it all” attitude about the Lord, His love and His plan for mankind.

We have had many discussions over the years, particularly on the “love” of Jesus. Recently this issue came up again via some email and he said words such as —

“Love sums up all the commandments. If i don’t have love for God and my brother, i have nothing. Bottomline. I have “no condemnation in Christ Jesus”. I have a relationship based on Christ’s righteousness, not my own. I live by the grace of God.”

This was in response to what I had sent him previously that said the following —

” If you LOVE ME , keep My Commandments” (John 14:15)   (a quick reminder the word “Commandments” is Entole, which means His 10 Commandments.)

I  was trying to explain that Jesus Himself says “how” we are to love Him. It can’t get any clearer than that! But as we showed in the above quote, their eyes and hearts are blinded. For some reason, they cannot read and comprehend straight clear words from the word of God. This got me thinking, “supping” with the Lord. Then an answer came to me.

You see brethren many today, especially Sunday keepers, I believe are held back from having the vail lifted from their eyes. The  Spirit of Prophecy explains —

“..the influence of these older church members will leaven those newly come to the faith. The Lord does not now work to bring many souls into the truth, because of the church members who have never been converted and those who were once converted but who have backslidden. What influence would these unconsecrated members have on new converts? Would they not make of no effect the God-given message which His people are to bear?” (Testimonies, vol.6, p.370)

If brother R  gives up his Sunday worship and comes into the Seventh-day Adventist church, after a short while,  what will he most likely find from some leaders and members we will show in pictures (they speak a thousand words).

Image result for young lady dress for church in short dress and high heels      Image result for thanksgiving dinner

Image result for pastor wearing rolex watch and rings

Image result for woman in jewelry in church

In summary, he will find women and men not dressing according to the Bible/ SDA teaching of modesty. Women, especially many younger ones, dressed in “nightclub” attire complete with nail polish. Men dressed in T-shirts and other common dress. He will find the eating of meat is practiced by some members(most of them privately beyond gazing eyes), even though it is against the SDA teachings. He will find jewelry and worldly fashions practiced by many, even the leaders.

But the most serious issue he will find is the “lukewarm” and carefree live and let live style that many SDA practice, not calling sin by its rightful name due to the “shepherd’s” unfaithfulness. THIS would be very hard to ignore and no doubt would hinder a “truth walk”.

The Lord has some dire Words for this situation, straight solemn words for our leaders (shepherds) —

“The word of the Lord came to me:  “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves!

“‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord:  As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, because My flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because My shepherds did not search for My flock but cared for themselves rather than for My flock, therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord:  This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for My flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue My flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.

‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I Myself will search for My sheep and look after them.  As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land.

I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I Myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord. I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.” (34:1-16)

In order for these blind ones to see God’s love/power within His people there will soon be a church judgment. The 144,000 will then be empowered to proclaim the Lord’s kingdom.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17)

Soon the Loud Cry will come upon the earth, the Truth in all it’s luster and power will convict masses. Those who cannot see or understand now may indeed know the Lord then. SOP tells us more —

“In the eighteenth chapter of the Revelation the people of God are called upon to come out of Babylon. According to this scripture, many of God’s people must still be in Babylon. And in what religious bodies are the greater part of the followers of Christ now to be found? Without doubt, in the various churches professing the Protestant faith.” (GC, p.483)

In closing let us remain at our post of duty bringing the Elijah message to our brethren, but know that should the situation arise that we discuss the Lord’s truth with those of outside faiths, don’t be surprised  if they cannot grasp God’s truth now because according to God’s plan they may soon do so in the future.

SHINTOISM AND NON-PROGRESSIVE CHRISTIANITY

November 16, 2019

TEXT OF ADDRESS BY V.T. HOUTEFF,
MINISTER OF DAVIDIAN 7TH-DAY ADVENTISTS
SABBATH, FEBRUARY 7, 1948
MT. CARMEL CHAPEL
WACO, TEXAS

TEXT FOR PRAYER

“Bring Forth Fruit”

I shall read from “Christ’s Object Lessons,” pg. 60, the first two paragraphs:

“God bids us fill the mind with great thoughts, pure thoughts. He desires us to meditate upon His love and mercy, to study His wonderful work in the great plan of redemption. Then clearer and still clearer will be our perception of truth, higher, holier, our desire for purity of heart and clearness of thought. The soul dwelling in the pure atmosphere of holy thought will be transformed by communion with God through the study of the Scriptures.

“‘And bring forth fruit.’ Those who, having heard the word, keep it, will bring forth fruit in obedience. The word of God, received into the soul, will be manifest in good works. Its results will be seen in a Christlike character and life. Christ said of Himself, ‘I delight to do Thy will, O My God; yea, Thy law is within My heart.’ ‘I seek not Mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent Me.’ And the Scripture says, ‘He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.'”

What shall we now pray for? — Pray for power to enable us to meditate upon His love and mercy and thus cause our perception of Truth to become higher and holier; pray to realize that the soul that dwells in the atmosphere of holy thought is transformed; pray to learn by experience that the Word of God received into the soul, does manifest Itself in good works.

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 12

SHINTOISM AND NON-PROGRESSIVE CHRISTIANITY

Our text for this afternoon’s study is found in–

Jer. 10:23 — “O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.”

In this verse we are told that the way man should go is not in himself, that he of himself does not know how to direct his steps. Someone else must direct them if he is to go in the right direction. For this very reason God’s people are led by a prophet and are preserved by a prophet. (Hos. 12:13.) So it was that through the medium of the prophets God led and preserved the Church of the Old Testament, and by the same Spirit He founded, led, and has to this day preserved the New Testament Church, although the spirit that rebelled against God’s leadership anciently, is still in the Church today.

Naturally men are unconscious of the fact that they cannot direct their own steps even after God starts them out as a father starts out his little son. We should never forget that when God’s ancient people rejected the prophets, including John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, and the Apostles, when He could no longer lead them, their feet slipped in every direction,

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 13

they fell from grace and lost everything. Only the followers of the prophets remained with God and they only composed the Christian church in its beginning. No other than God did direct their steps into the Church.

Let us take another example: The world at large today, with but a few exceptions, is Buddhist, Mohammedan, or Christian. Two-thirds of the world’s population is still following in the steps of Buddha, who lived about 550 years before Christ. Think of it! Two-thirds, a little less than a billion of the world’s inhabitants are still followers of Buddha!

And who was Buddha? What kind of a man was he — good or bad? Was he a deceiver or was he a teacher of righteousness?

To find the answer, let us first take into consideration the kind of people he was in contact with. He was not in touch with the Hebrews, nor with the Christians, but only with degraded people of the Orient. And those who did not come in contact with Buddha’s teachings, — those of the south sea islands in particular — are to a large extent still cannibals.

Taking these facts into consideration before passing judgment we may ask, What did Buddha deceive his followers from? — From nothing is the overall answer. And what did he lead them to? History gives this answer; “What he taught the people was that they should seek salvation not through the observance of religious rites and ceremonies, but through honesty and purity of heart, through charity and tenderness and compassion toward all creatures that have life.” — “General History,” p. 66.

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 14

Since Buddha’s kind of teaching certainly does not come from the Devil, and since he led his followers from bad to better, he could not have been a deceiver. Buddha, moreover, not only taught good morals, but, if history is reliable, he himself lived up to what he taught. Finally, in keeping with his great influence he could have been a rich man, but he died poor. And if standards of living have any virtues at all, Buddha’s standards, if lived up to, could have lifted the people of the Orient higher than the level of many so-called Christians in our day.

Buddha therefore appears to have been a preacher of righteousness in his day, for his standard of behaviour was practically the standard of the ten commandments, the standards of the Bible. Where did he get such a standard? Certainly not from the Devil. We may now ask the question, Was God in Buddha’s day interested only in the Hebrew nation? Did He entirely neglect the rest of the world? And did He deliberately permit a third of the earth’s inhabitants to be led by Buddha from bad to worse? or did He see that they be led from bad to better?

There is but one answer that we can honestly and wisely give: That God through Buddha did for the heathen that which could not have been done through Moses or through any of the Hebrew prophets.

Comparatively speaking, God through Buddha raised the heathen from the pit in which they were as many inches up, as Moses raised the Hebrew’s from the pit in which they were. The Hebrews, of course, rose much closer to God than the followers of Buddha because the pit in which Buddha found the heathen was much deeper than the pit in which Moses found the Hebrew nation.

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 15

Buddha himself never thought that after his death he would be worshipped as a god by his followers — no, no more than the prophets, the Apostles, and Mary, the mother of Jesus, thought they would be worshipped after their death.

You can now see that while Buddha was directing the steps of his people, the people were led closer to the standards of the Bible and to the ideals of Christ than they were before his day. Since this is so, then Buddha was not a deceiver.

As soon as Buddha died, though, his followers ran against a wall as it were, and their progress toward God, the Bible, and Christ, stopped where Buddha stopped. Indeed they could not have advanced further for they made the death of Buddha become their block against progress toward God. How did they do it?–

It is a known fact that when people give credit of a Divine deed to a finite being, then their hope of another as great, or greater ever coming to help them is forever gone. They do not believe that God lives, that he will raise another even greater to lead them further, but believe that there is no need of another and no need for more Truth. Consequently as they do not expect another, when one comes they reject him. Thus the Buddhists put a stop to their spiritual progress. So you see that when the light that is in you becomes darkness, “How great is that darkness!” Matt. 6:23.

Judging from the experiences of the past, the freedom of a nation and the assassin’s bullet this year are likely to bring forth another god — Mohandus K. Gandhi. He is likely to become the Buddha of today. Yes, the Hindu millions are already giving to Mr. Gandhi the

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 16

credit for all his good and Godly deeds.

He, like Buddha, certainly was a good man, with high standards and good morals, the standards and morals of the Bible and of Jesus Christ.

This brings us to another hard question to answer — Since Gandhi lived in the Christian era why did he not become Christian? — Perhaps he would have, but I suppose he took into account that to become a Christian and join the Christian church would lower rather than lift his standard of behaviour.

As he saw it, it looked to him that a so-called Christian nation was sapping the blood of his people, that she was abusing and treating them as inferior human beings. In fact, he himself, for his stand on national decency and national freedom spent about twelve years in jail. These are the things that most likely kept Mr. Gandhi from joining the Christian church and people. He certainly did not turn away from Christianity to avoid any sacrifices, or to indulge in any sin.

Gandhi’s theory, moreover, for freedom by non-violence, by neither sword nor gun, succeeded and freed over 400,000,000 people who had been servants of the strong for nearly 200 years! This he accomplished while the Christians were killing one another by the thousands! These are some of the things which most likely kept Mr. Gandhi from becoming a Christian.

Let us now for a moment consider Mohammed, to whom something like 220,000,000 people bow. What kind of man was he? Was he a deceiver? or was he a teacher of righteousness? — Let us also consider

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 17

the people who were taught by him. They were the descendants of Lot and Abraham, — Moabites, Esauites, and Ishmaelites, etc., all of them bitter enemies of the Hebrews, and their religion.

Since Mohammed led millions of Arabs closer to the Hebrew-Christian religion than the so-called Christians in his day would have led them, it is hardly possible that he was a deceiver. He led his followers to a higher moral standard of living, modesty, cleanliness, regularity of prayer and Biblical diet than the Christians of his day would have led them. Mohammed’s theory of religion according to history, and as Mohammedanism has it now is this:

“Mohammedanism, the name commonly given in Christian countries to the creed established by Mohammed. His followers call their creed Islam (entire submission to the decrees of God), and their common formula of faith is, ‘There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet.’ The dogmatic or theoretical part of Mohammedanism embraces the following points: —

1. Belief in God, who is without beginning or end, the sole Creator and Lord of the universe, having absolute power, knowledge, glory, and perfection.
2. Belief in his angels, who are impeccable beings, created of light.
3. Belief in good and evil Jinn (genii), who are created of smokeless fire, and are subject to death.
4. Belief in the Holy Scriptures, which are his uncreated word revealed to the prophets. Of these there now exist, but in a greatly corrupted form, the Pentateuch, the Psalms, and the Gospels; and in an uncorrupted and incorruptible state the Koran, which abrogates and surpasses all preceding revelations. (See Koran.)
5. Belief in Gods prophets and apostles, the most distinguished of whom are Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed. Mohammed

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 18

is the greatest of them all, the last of the prophets and the most excellent of the creatures of God.
6. Belief in a general resurrection and final judgment, and in future rewards and punishments, chiefly of a physical nature.
7. The belief, even to the extent of fatalism, of God’s absolute foreknowledge and predestination of all events both good and evil.” — “Twentieth Century Cyclopedia,” p. 507.

In view of the fact that Mohammed led his people closer to the religion of the Bible than they had been before, could he truly be called a deceiver? If so, tell me what did he deceive them from?

Since Mohammed was so near to believing the Christian religion, we may ask, Why did he not become a Christian? — Let us consider the possibilities that could have prevented him from so doing:

Mohammed lived in the seventh century of the Christian era, in the midst of the Dark Ages of religion, when the Christian church was deepest in idol worship, graft and immorality, practices that are prohibited by the Scriptures. If nothing else could have kept him from joining the Christian church, then idol worship along with the prevalent use of swine’s flesh, practice that is against all Bible religion, was enough to turn Mohammed from Christianity.

Mohammed, I believe, did the very best he could, considering that in his time the so-called Christian church was at a very low ebb, and that his morals and behaviour were much higher than were the morals and behaviour of the Christianized pagans. In view of all this, who can say that Mohammed was a bad man, that he was a deceiver?

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 19

Are we still inquiring why God permitted Mohammed to teach his religion to millions of the earth’s inhabitants? And do we still wonder why he did not become a Christian? — If so, here is a second answer: God permitted him because Mohammed was making the people better than they were, and because Mohammedanism in that day brought one closer to the religion of the Bible than could have paganized Christianity. But why are the Mohammedans still Mohammedans? — Mohammedans are still Mohammedans, for the same reason that Buddhists are still Buddhists; that is, because after Mohammed died, they did just what the Buddhists did: In the progress of religion the Mohammedans stopped where Mohammed stopped — at his tomb.

They stopped there to make sure that their followers would never join another sect. They taught the people that there was to be no other prophet, that Mohammed was the last, that there was no need for another, that they had all the Truth to lead them to the pearly gates. Thus corrupt Mohammedanism drilledthis false idea into the minds of the common people then, and still more corrupted Mohammedanism of today, like all other sects, including corrupt Adventism, still does the same. Thus it is that no sect as a people, but only as individuals, has ever accepted an additional message and this is the reason for the multi-sectarian world.

So to ask why Mohammedans and Buddhists are still Mohammedans and Buddhists — why have they not advanced since Mohammed and Buddha died, is like asking why Catholics have not yet become Lutherans, why Lutherans have not yet become Presbyterians, why Presbyterians have not yet become Methodists, why Methodists have not yet become Baptists, why Baptists have not yet become Seventh-day Adventists, and why Seventh-day Adventists have not yet become

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 20

Davidian Seventh-day Adventists? The overall answer is that each successive denomination has failed to keep pace with the progress of Truth because each has failed to climb higher than the height of the founder of each respective denomination could possibly have led them in his life time.

The Jews never rose higher than the height to which Moses led them. When Moses died, they as it were died with him so far as spiritual progress was concerned. Thus it was that they rejected and killed the prophets that came after Moses, not sparing the Son of God.

The same spirit prevailed in the Christian church. She never rose above the level on which the Apostles left her, and for a time she even fell almost to the bottom of the pit. And she would have dropped out had God not again visited His people in the persons of Luther, Knox, Wesley, Campbell and the other reformers, through whom the Lord brought to light certain parts of Bible Truth that had long been trampled under foot.

But did the Christian world as a whole see the Light? And did all walk in It? No, indeed not, not as a people, but only as individuals. This is what accounts for the present multi-sectarian world; that is, as it became necessary for Christ to organize a new church, the Christian, separate from the mother church, the Jewish, in His day, just so the reformers found themselves cast out from the mother churches, and necessarily were obliged to organize the followers of advancing Truth into a new denomination, one after another.

In this light, you see the spirit which keeps the Jews still Jews, the Buddhists still Buddhists, the Mohammedans still Mohammedans, the Catholics still Catholics, the Lutherans still Lutherans, the

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 21

Methodists still Methodists, the Baptists still Baptists — the very same spirit is today working within our own denomination, the Seventh-day Adventists, presumptuously believing that they are rich and increased with goods, in need of nothing more. It, too, thinks that its dead founder was the last in the line of the prophets, that there is no need of another. It feels certain that the light and energy in its ship, Zion, is sufficient to take it to the shore of the Kingdom, though they well know that their message, the Judgment for the Dead is not the last, but that the Judgment for the Living, the which they do not yet have, is the last!

This spirit of sliding back rather than going forward, of opposing spiritual growth, and at the same time fostering the spirit of lukewarmness, is successfully working with many in spite of the fact that the prophecies of the Bible which point to our day, are to them still mysteries. They care not to know them.

There is therefore yet a great work to be done, not only for all nations, kindreds, tongues, and peoples, but for the Church herself, if any are to be saved from the coming doom. According to Jeremiah’s prophecy, corrupt Christianity is nothing short of a form of Shintoism:

Jer. 10:1-5 — “Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot

Timely Greetings, Vol. 2, No. 26, page 22

do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.”

The widely used Christmas tree, on the 25th of December — a tree cut down from its source of life and fastened up by nails — does not symbolize a birth, but rather one’s death and a futile effort to make him live. By cutting down the tree, to the heathen it symbolized their dead chief, and by propping it up, it symbolized life though one be dead. Now the fact that the spurious Christmas tree is widely celebrated not only by Christians, but also by non-Christians, the world by this act is worshiping the dead, a form of Shintoism. Worshiping the dead prophets and killing the living ones, is a brutal effort to block the progress of Truth, to deceive self and others.

Finally, had it not been for the fact that some wide-awake ones throughout the ages have dared take up their cross and follow God through His prophets in order to be led from one height of Truth to another, the world would not have stood this long.

There is no doubt, the Church from creation till today has been led and preserved by the prophets, and she can continue in no other way from here on.

Faith in Action

We have heard the well-known following words from our Lord —

“Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.” (Matt. 17:17)

Our Lord was exasperated with the lack of faith around him. But how about those who show great faith and put it in practice?

We remember one of the greatest examples of pure unadulterated faith exhibited by the Centurion.

“When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.  For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.  I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.  But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.” (Matt.8:5-13)

Today when we hear of such strong faith , it really encourages us. It motivates us to do likewise remembering that faith is so important in our Christian walk. This week we’d like to tell you about “Brother R”. We heard about this story this week and was led to share it. The following is what he wrote on FB —

Blessed by the goodness of God!

I lost my wallet today on a bike ride to the store. When I got home I immediately knew that it was not in my pocket. I got on my bike and followed the way back to the store. No wallet. I went inside the store and asked customer service. No wallet. I left my name and tele # with them. Then I rode back the same way. No wallet.

When I got home, Elba and I had prayer that it might be returned. I then cancelled my debit card which thankfully was the only card that I had. We both had faith that it would be found and returned. Later on I called the store to check in and see. No wallet.

We had some family over for Thanksgiving dinner this evening. My faith was still encouraged, even though it had been several hours by now. After the family time was over and everybody went home, I had began to think that it was not going to be found. I wrote down on my desk that I needed to contact the DMV, bus pass, and store discount card. Then we sat down to watch a movie. It was 9 pm.

Shortly thereafter…….
The doorbell rings. There stands two guys and a lady. I immediately knew what it was all about. They brought my wallet to the door. A mom and her two sons who were older. Wow! The mom’s husband found it on the sidewalk about a block away. He was unable to come. I didn’t hesitate to offer them a check. They all absolutely refused. I offered a couple of times, still they said no way. We praised God for them and gave them many thanks. We said, “God answers prayer”. They agreed.

What a God! God’s faithfulness was shown even when I had pretty much given up on the tail end. Bless His name! (This was the third time in recent years that my wallet was lost. Each time they were returned, nothing was missing.)

Although tempted to forego his faith, he still had faith in the power of the Lord to answer prayer, for he had lost his wallet two other times and each time, prayed and it has been done unto him. We notice that he and his wife did the most important thing, they took the matter to the Lord in prayer right away. So often we sadly forget to call upon the Lord in these situations, whether big or small, important or not so important.

But here is what really made us think. Brother R, his wife and myself all think it was no ordinary humans who found and then delivered this wallet, we believe it was–angels! Brother R relayed to me when we discussed this situation that there was something unique and wonderful about the “mom and her two sons”. For they smiled very warmly and presented themselves in, well let’s just say an “angelic way”.

God’s word says —

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”(Hebrews 13:2)

We also had the same unique and wonderful experience, which we related in the following post done back on Dec. 11, 2009 —

https://godsloveandlaw.com/2009/12/11/gods-sings-give-us-renewed-faith/

The above link post experience reminded me of a prior similar experience. Looking back, I truly believe it was angels who sat down with me for that dinner. Angels probably take a much more active role in the Christian experience than we realize. We remember Lot having that memorable meeting with the two men who were angels.

Some may say. “Yeah but I pray often for things but I don’t get much from it.” The Scriptures answers that —

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.” (James 4:3)

In closing, our walk is built upon “the basics” and those are –love, faith, and obedience. When we learn to trust the Lord, He will certainly reward our faith if it is according to His purpose.

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.”(Matt.21:21)
