From the brink of death *

I was scheduled to write about the last days “Laodicean Church” and how we must do what our Lord described in Revelation about this. But yesterday I was shown an inspired story which God has lead me to publish instead. We should always be ready to change “our” plans when He guides us.

Her name is Teodora and at 40 years old, she was dying. The autoimmune disease was ravaging her body. She got down to 90 pounds. Death was lurking. She became desperate and called Speranta TV, a Hope Channel station based in Romania. For some of you not aware,  Hope Channel is a true Christian TV station , similar to 3 ABN TV.

” I must be baptized quickly!” she said over the phone as she spoke to the Speranta representative.  ” Can you come baptize me?” she pleaded. In response to Teodora’s cry for help they immediately sought help for her wish.

Romania along with Bulgaria, are two of the poorest nations in Europe. And as we shall see,  God has his eye on these “poor people” because many times such people are humbled by their circumstances, and as such have a open heart to His truth when they hear it. Money and it’s Idols or man’s religious traditions, in many cases,  haven’t taken hold of them.

Just a few years ago Teodora was healthy, enjoying life with her husband and daughter, Leontin and Larisa. But it all changed when a deadly disease attacked her thyroid and kidneys. She started losing weight at an alarming rate. Doctors tried to help, but nothing seemed to slow the disease.

One day Petrica, a local Sabbath keeping church member was giving bible studies to another family in Teodora’s neighborhood.Learning of her near fatal condition, Petrica went to her house to pray for her. Although he was unable to have bible studies with her, Pedrica encouraged her to start watching the popular and growing TV station called Speranta. Soon Teodora began to think the station was “exactly what she needed”. She was learning and her eyes were opening ( spiritually)

The station preached of God’s truth and His Commandments and how obedience is the fruit of our faith. The next several months came mixed blessings, her body wasn’t improving much, but her spirit was growing by leaps and bounds. But amazingly her husband and daughter were also watching this station, soaking up  all the truth’s they heard. Even a frequent friend “Maria” became intriqued as well.

As the months passed and her strength waned, she knew her time was running out. But she wanted to be baptized and join the church that helped to sustain her spirit during these tough times. That’s when she called Speranta TV. She got to speak to pastor Darvasan, and he could tell she was desperate. He immediatley called the local pastor in her area to have him visit her. When the pastor arrived, he was surprised to discover that not only Teodora asked to be baptized, but Maria and another friend also. All touched by the truth they received by watching Speranta TV.

So the pastor baptized all three women. God had worked a remarkable spiritual miracle in these women’s lives but He wasn’t done just yet. He was to improve Teodora’s health considerably.

Teodora didn’t die right away like many expected. Slowly she began to regain her health! Soon she had gained 50 pounds! While she still had the disease, she had improved so much, she was able to care for herself and her family. Soon after,  she and her family began to worship the true Lord and could be found every Sabbath worshipping with her new church family at their local Seventh Day Adventist Church. Word began to spread and soon other families were watching this station and learning “new truths” from the word of God. Praise the Lord!

As Teodora will testify God has brought her hope and a new lease on life. And it is because she had been guided and looked after by God, directing that bible study church member  to “just stop by”. He showed her a station proclaiming God’s word and truth.

So  we have the ability to tell people of His truths also, through 3 ABN, Hope Channel, Amazing facts TV and DVD’s. God’s 3 Angel’s message is being broadcast by these mentioned stations 24/7, and when you tell people about them YOU also are proclaiming this important last day’s message.  So don’t think you can’t be a part, YOU CAN! The growth of these stations is truly amazing because HIS MESSAGE in these last days MUST be made!  God be with you.

We must understand Paul’s writings

In the New Testament it is very  important to understand that the “Law” is spoken about in TWO SENSES. The Mosiac law( or ceremonial law) and the Moral Laws are two distinct laws which  are quite different in their meaning and purpose.

In the book called  ” The Ten Commandments twice removed”  the writers explain very clearly the following.  ” The law of Moses described ceremonies and practices given to Israel that pointed forward to  Jesus as the true lamb of God. Because of this, it  sometimes was referred to as the “Ceremonial law” and had a limited time of effectiveness attached to it.”

Now before we go into more about understanding this difference we must know that this misunderstanding was told of by Peter when he said (2 Peter 3:15-16) “…just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave. He writes the same way in all his letters. speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are HARD TO UNDERSTAND which the ignorant and unstable people distort, as they did other scripture, to their own destruction.” God foresaw in His great vision that Paul’s writing would be taken out of context, amazing and true!

I am often in debates and discussions with “Sunday” keepers and they almost always quote Paul as to their reason that the “Law” was done away with or changed. Particularly Colossians and Galatians. If you were not aware that Paul discusses “two” laws in his writings you could easily be fooled into thinking he is talking about the “Moral Law”. For example let’s look at the often quoted ( Col 2:16)

In that verse it reads  ” Let no man THEREFORE (remember this word) judge you in meat or in drink, or in respect to a holyday, or a new moon, or of the sabbath days.”  When we read that verse we must understand the verses BEFORE it! The word “therefore” means Paul has arrived at his conclusion based on what he said BEFORE this verse and now wishes to draw his conclusion with the fact we should not be judged based on the CEREMONIAL law.

In verse 2:14 Paul writes ” Blotting out the handwritting of ORDINANCES (don’t forget this word) that was against us, which was contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.” Now it is very important to understand that it was the “ceremonial law” which had all the ordinances NOT the 10 Commandment Law (Moral Law). Paul was explaining that ceremonies and the like were “shadows” of things to come, and after our Lord’s sacrifice , THEY CEASED! Therefore don’t allow anyone to judge you according to “those laws and ordinances”! And the Ceremonial laws had many special “sabbath days” of observance APART from the 7th day Sabbath (totally seperate Sabbath!)

Can anyone say the Commandments were “against us”?? Just use common sense on that one. I could go on and on to explain all the misunderstandings of Paul’s writings but I think you can see the reason for the mis-guided reasonings. Infact even the popular Protestant preacher Billy Graham has said “The NT speaks of the “law” in two senses, and does not imply that the 10 Commandment Law has been done away with” (source- Doug Batchelor  Lord’s day DVD)

In (1 Cor.7:19) Paul makes a stark difference between the two laws. “Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of  THE COMMANDMENTS of God is what matters”.  Circumcision was part of the Mosiac law, and therefore was being explained by Paul as not important, rather it’s God’s Commandments that are. So anytime you see Paul explaining the “non-importance” of the “law” you can be assured it was NOT the Moral Law  (10 Commandments).

So the next time you are discussing the Sabbath or the Commandments with a non-believer, make sure they understand that the “Law” isn’t just on ONE SENSE when spoken in the New Testament. The Devil wants many to believe this and sadly many are!  But if you summit to the Lord and make him YOUR KING and obey His holy Laws, your eyes will open and you’ll understand scripture clearly, amen!

A story of true faith

Sometimes we get alittle discouraged in our walk and need stories like the following.

His name is Mike Mudd. He was in his mid twenties when he gave his heart to the Lord and became a Christian. ” I had been an atheist my whole life and then had an experience with the Lord. I went from an atheist to telling everybody about the Lord”, Mike said.

Mike was an valued employee at a local auto parts  store. Shortly after becoming a Christian Mike became aware of the Sabbath and felt he must keep it. Mike’s pastor wrote a letter to the company explaining Mike’s beliefs. The company was very supportive and agreed to give Mike Saturday  off.

Later the company changed management. In 2007 they contacted Mike and told him he would have to work Saturdays. Mike refused! He valued the time spent with the Lord and knew that day was the “Lord’s day”. Mikes says “they told me if I wouldn’t work they would let me go. So I was terminated. It was scary as no income was coming in”.  Mike went for making good money to no money!

But Mike and his family stood firm! Just like the prophets of old they drew the line and would not cross it. God’s law was just that, GOD’S LAW. Later a friend heard about Mike’s story. He told Mike about a Seventh Day Adventist program that helped people who had be wronged by their convictions.

The organization heard the details about Mikes situation and contacted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and filed charges against the company for religious discrimination. In the meantime Mike and his family were PRAYING for a way to share the gospel to others. They looked not upon their own suffering but  to others  whom they could help. Now  is that not what Christ taught!!?  Serve and not think about what we need, amen!

God heard their prayers for it was sweet to Him! Their selflessness was truly a good thing before the Lord. Shortly therafter they decided  to attend the Lay institute for Evangelism. Mike said ” we didn’t have the money to cover the cost for the program but we were convinced it was what the Lord wanted us to do”.

Mike then heard from the organization defending him that his former company had made a settlement offer. They agreed to pay him EXACTLY the amount needed to attend the program!  God came through!  Wow!

Mike said “My wife and kids got to see how the Lord works when we are faithful. It has been an unbelievable experince for us. If we set our hearts upon God and according to His will, He will always be faithful, always!”

Let the above story be a reminder that when we put GOD FIRST he comes back and lifts us up to Him! amen.

” My Covenant I will not break…”

In (Psalms 89:34) we read this word of God ” My Covenant I will not break, nor ALTER the word that has gone out of My lips”.  We can clearly see that God cannot and will not break the 10 Commandment Covenant made to His people. Even though His people continued to break their end of the deal , God has remained steadfast in honoring His part. Which means  that ALL of the 10 Commandments are still in force  and have not been “altered”.

Unfortunately the vast Christian empire says ” Yes, God did alter the Covenant. He replaced a spoken Commandment with another Commandment”. But when pressed and asked “where” does He say that His “new” Covenant has been changed in the Bible? Where is it said that EVEN ONE of the Covenant Commandments was changed?  They draw a blank.  They CANNOT produce ANYTHING to back up their belief. But unfortunately it really doesn’t matter to them because they would rather follow the crowd than to really study God’s word. The Bible says (Hosea 4:6) “My people perish for lack of knowledge, because they have rejected knowledge, I will also reject them…”

He goes on in Hosea to say  it  is because they have forgotten His “Law” that they perish. Should we also fail to study His word and Law? To take the chance in also perishing because we didn’t look up God’s word on all that we believe? To verify if certain doctrines are sound when compared to God’s word? IT IS IMPERATIVE WE SEARCH SCRIPTURE!

If we really study God’s word we’ll find that there was a “change” in the Old and NEW Covenant. But it wasn’t what was IN the Covenant. It was “where” the Covenant moved to. It went from tables of stone to our hearts and minds!( Heb.8:10)  THAT is the change. NOT ONE of the original Commandments was “altered”. If it had been then God is a liar. And ofcourse we can never accuse Him of this, God forbid!

How do we know God’s original 10 are still in force? There are TONS of scripture pointing to this but I’ll use my favorite (Psalms 111:7-8) “ALL His Commandments are sure, they stand fast forever and ever”  Now, think about this. This word of God was written centuries BEFORE our Lord came to earth. So it was said way before the time where many Christians say it was changed. So here again God word is lying if they did not stand forever and ever because ONE was changed ( Sabbath to Sunday). So one did not remain standing. You see how when we really believe God’s word, we become clear on His truths!

Some will say, “Rob, why are you dwelling so much on His Law?” I would answer that GOD HIMSELF  dwells on it!  In ( Rev. 11:19) we read ” And the temple of God which is in heaven WAS OPENED, and the ark of the COVENANT appeared IN HIS TEMPLE….”   Now look at that!  Right in the middle of the MOST HOLY PLACE is God’s Law– His Covenant with His people.  Do I need say more??

So I beseech all whom call themselves ” Christian” to study His word. And once you do, with humble heart, you’ll find that His word says in essence— OBEY, LOVE, FOLLOW  JESUS. But Jesus can’t be followed unless you are willing to OBEY His Law- Covenant. Sadly most don’t study and only follow the crowd.  May God be near to all who humble themselves and say ” Lord, I know nothing, teach me your word”  Then you can be SURE He will!   Amen.

Germany and Croatia now have Sunday laws, part II

They say history repeats itself. It is truly amazing how many people turn a blind eye to history, particularly the history of the Catholic church. Protestant churches have “blindly” followed the Catholic lead in Sunday worship. Even the stated Catholic postion in the past  has been to label the Protestants “followers” of the Sunday worship mandate begun with the Roman Empire (Catholic church). Yet the Protestants ( Methodists, Baptists, etc.) mistakenly  declare that “they” know it’s  the Lord’s day, without studying history. The following 3 part video series (not real long) will explain in great simple and graphic view the REAL story of the Catholic church and it’s role in the prophecy. The beginning of the fulfillment is now starting with Germany and Croatia setting up Sunday laws.

Let us act on what we receive

In the last post I wrote about how we should be on the “lookout” for God’s answers to our prayers. Now, I wish to discuss how we must “act” on what we receive sometimes.

As many of you know, I have talked about the many ways God can answer your prayer request. For me personally it seems to be dreams. Many questions I have had were indeed “answered” in a dream by God. And an important thing to remember is that when we receive  an answer or sign from God, if at all possible SHARE IT. Jesus said (Matt 5:15) “neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it gives light unto all that are in the house”. ( Luke 8:39) ” Return to your house, and show what great things God has done for you”.  In other words SPREAD the wonderful thing that God has done! Other’s may be inspired.

When Ellen White began to receive visions of the last days messages from God, it is said that a man named Hazen Foss received the same visions months before. But unfortunately he did not “act” upon them, to tell of them to the people. How sad it is when we too keep silent on our special signs and wonders received by God.

For awhile I have prayed a prayer about a certain person who is close to me. This person is a professing Christian. As far as I know he seems to be walking uprightly before the Lord ( except for the Sabbath). That has really concerned me. I mean, I asked God “is it possible this person is righteous still?”  This person even walks the streets telling people about Jesus. So I was in turmoil of the situation. But the answer came.  I got a dream about a week ago.

In this dream I am in the car with this person. I am in the passenger seat and he is driving. I look over at him and his eyes are open yet glazed over , almost like sleep walking (driving). Then I look ahead and there is a car coming straight at us! In a panic I reach over and grab the wheel   and steer it away and we just miss it. I look at him and say “what’s the matter with you!!?”  Then I awake. It took alittle while but the answer became clear.

God was telling me that this person is heading down a dangerous path. He is not fully awake of God’s truth and I am to reach out and warn him (try to help him). As I attempted to do this already in the past, it was now from God. So I must now “act” upon this vision. I must let him know about this dream and perhaps it will “awaken” him to some things. Sometimes we must do things that may seem hard to do, nevertheless it is right before God.

If, for example, you get a dream about your uncle Charlie and he’s in distress, it could be God telling you to reach out to him. That is why I say be aware of things sent by God  and then ACT on them.

In my case with this person I think it’s clear God was telling me that even when people “profess” to know Him and remain committed to ignoring and breaking His Commandments, they are NOT walking righteously before Him.

So remember to be ready to act on God’s signs and wonders given you. Please pray for “Rob’s special person” to have God open his eyes and to see the error of his ways.   Yours in Christ.

Are you on the look-out?

As I go further along on my Christian walk, it becomes more apparent to me that many followers of Christ really need to enhance and improve their “prayer” life. The Lord has guided me to post this message in hope that  it can lead you to discover a more meaningful prayer life with Him.

To begin with we must keep in mind that our life should be in obedience to His word. Meaning we are walking uprightly according to His Holy Commandments. Each day we should pray to be guided according to His Laws. For His word is downright  to the point in (Proverb 28:9) “If ANYONE (that mean’s even a professed Christian) turns His ear from hearing of the Law ( Holy Commandments) even HIS PRAYERS are an abomination”. “Abomination?”   Wow, talk about serious prayer requirement!  So once we are sincerely doing our best to obey His Commandments, we can feel confident to approach Him in prayer.

Jesus was our example on prayer and often withdrew Himself to a secret place to talk with God the Father. (Luke 5:16) ” He withdrew Himself into the wilderness and prayed”.  Infact Jesus told us to “go into a closet”  to pray(Matt 6:6). It is clear Jesus wants very little  or no “showiness” about our prayer. Better to withdraw privately one to One.

Another important thing Jesus said about prayer, was to not make long repetitious prayers. (Matt6:7) ”  But when you pray use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do, for they think that they will be heard for MUCH SPEAKING”.   That is why I cringe at churches that have set times for the same old prayer, it is vain repetitions! Our God is worthy of much more than this!

Now we get to the heart of this message and it is about BELIEF. This to me is the NUMBER ONE  reason we don’t draw close to Him through prayer.  WE DON’T REALLY BELIEVE  HE’LL  ANSWER. Sad but very true today. We ignore what our Lord said (Luke 11:19)  “And I say to you, ask and it shall be delivered to you, seek and you will find, knock and it shall be opened unto you”  Do we really want answers to our prayers? Then we better start believing. Ofcourse prayer can be just letting our Lord know you love Him and want to thank Him. I am specifically talking about “prayer requests”.

How is our Lord answering our prayers? There are many ways. There are dreams ( I have had this many times) , there may be a friend sent by the Lord to you, or a stranger. There may be some written page (scripture,newspaper, bilboard, book, etc.)  The point is that we MUST BE ON THE LOOK OUT! What good is it to pray then forget all about it a day or two later?? Is our Lord pleased with our non-belief in Him responding? Do we make Him out to be so weak and non-caring?

You see the Lord wants to be our Google!  You want to know anything? Have you ever thought of asking our Lord?  I can tell you from first hand experience, once you get answers from Him, it really does lift your closeness to Him to a new level.  We must be careful to be specific in our requests and pointed. We want to clearly understand. But once we ask,  then we must not forget about it.

Prayer is the lifeblood of our walk and it will bring a closeness and bonding to our Lord that will truly inspire you to GO TELL people about this ALIVE and ready to help Lord of ours!  Amen my brothers and sisters.

Heart to Heart

The following post is contributed by my dear friend Barbra Namuddu. They are some  pointed scriptures and may we dwell on their truth!

(2 Peter 3:9) ” The Lord is not slow to do what He promises, as some think. Instead, he is patient with you, because he does not want any one to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins”. Here is shows that even when we think He isn’t watching and caring for us He is!

(Mark 7:20-23) ” It is what comes out of a man that makes him unclean. For from the inside, from a person’s heart, comes evil ideas which lead him to do immoral things, to rob, to kill, commit adultery. be greedy and do do all sorts of evil things….”   Certainly all sin originates within our heart and mind. For our nature is evil and rebellious.  Only Christ can change this nature!

(Matthew 12:34) ” You snakes, how can you say good things, when you are evil? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of”  Amen. Our talk should be of love and gentleness, as Christ showed. Even though their is what is called ” righteous anger” it should be far and few between.

The Ten Commandments are God’s principles that originate from His heart. That heart is love and cannot produce harshness, so the Ten Commandments express love fo God to us, and love of us towards our fellow brothers and sisters. When God writes the Commandments in your heart, our heart is becoming like His heart, so it is heart to heart, as it were.

God says today, that my child I am giving you a new heart. Will you accept it?  Will you turn away from your sins? Please pray often for God to keep providing with this new heart and constant renewing of  His love!     Amen.

Amazing facts from the Bible

Let’s just say only God could have divinely made this happen.

For those who are “New testament” believers only and say that this is the only book that is relevant today this is something you should know.   Jesus quoted at least 10 % of everything he said from the Old testament.

The Bible, in part or whole has been translated into nearly 2000 languages. The most translated book of all time.
